  • Publication number: 20090173230
Abstract: A device for purification of air comprising: a metal plate, electrical connections connected to the metal plate in order to impress a voltage on the metal plate, a heating element for heating the metal plate, a nozzle connected to a water supply in order to spray the metal plate with water. In further embodiments the device also comprises a metallic cylinder, a fan disposed at one end of the cylinder and a restriction disposed at the other end of the cylinder, together with live coils for providing an electric field, where the centre of the electric field round the coils coincides with the location of the device's other units.

  • Patent number: 7534341
Abstract: Method of metering at least one solid, particulate catalyst into a reactor containing a fluidized bed (11) of particles in an at least partly gaseous medium, in which the catalyst is metered discontinuously at prescribed time intervals into the fluidized bed (11) at at least one metering point (10). According to the present invention, a fluid stream is firstly introduced into the reactor (5) so that a region having a reduced particle density is formed in the fluidized bed (11) around the metering point (10) and the catalyst is subsequently metered into this region. As a result of the prior introduction of a fluid stream (“preblowing”) before the actual introduction of the catalyst, the catalyst can penetrate significantly deeper into the fluidized bed from the metering point due to the reduced particle density and is dispersed better.

  • Patent number: 7427313
Abstract: The device according to the invention includes a drip chamber, which is adapted for connecting to the ordinary water mains, a metal plate and a nozzle that is connected to the drip chamber and disposed above the metal plate and a collecting vessel. The object of the drip chamber is to convert the continuous flow of water from the water mains into discrete drops, thus forming a water reservoir in the bottom of the drip chamber, which is electrically insulated from the water supply while the reservoir still receives a constant new supply of water. Water from the reservoir is passed on to the nozzle and sprayed over the steel plate. An impressed voltage on the nozzle and thereby the water attracts the impurities in the air and these will bind to the water and follow it when the water runs down into a collecting vessel, which is subsequently emptied into the house's drainage system.

  • Patent number: 6462150
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the isolation of olefins from a gas mixture comprising one or more olefins, inert gas and catalyst poison, where the gas mixture is fed to a separation unit (18) and separated into olefin and inert gas. The method according to the invention has the special feature that an apparatus (17) is installed upstream or downstream of the separation unit (18) and that i) in the case of an upstream apparatus (17), the catalyst poison is at least partially removed from the gas mixture, and ii) in the case of a downstream apparatus (17), the catalyst poison is at least partially removed from the separated-off olefin. The olefins here are preferably isolated from a gas mixture formed as offgas in catalytic gas-phase polymerization for the preparation of polyolefins. The recovery of the olefins from the offgas is of economic importance.
