  • Publication number: 20070006410
Abstract: A toothbrush head in which the fixed ends of the bristles are embedded in a mass of a polyurethane gel material incorporated in the head. Typical nylon materials as used for toothbrush bristles are found to bind with polyurethane gels so that advantageously holders for the bristles need not be used. A moulding process is also provided for making the toothbrush head.

  • Publication number: 20060288510
Abstract: A toothbrush made partly of a hard plastic material and partly of an elastomeric material, characterized in that at least part of the elastomeric material comprises an inner core (23) of a first soft elastomeric material wholly or partly enclosed within an outer flexible skin (24) of a second polymer material having different physical characteristics to the inner core polymer. Processes for making such a toothbrush are also described.

  • Patent number: 7137166
Abstract: A toothbrush with a replaceable head in which the handle has a socket and the head has a pin for insertion into the socket and the socket side walls or the pin comprise a resiliently deforable elastomer material differnt to the material of the socket side walls or pin. A preferred form of the toothbrush has its socket in a tubular structure resiliently supported between two fork-like arms.

  • Publication number: 20060248667
Abstract: A brush part for an electric toothbrush in which tufts of bristles are arranged in polygons, and in which the tufts of bristles lean, either around the polygons or inwardly and outwardly, so that the tuft alignments converge and preferably cross.

  • Publication number: 20040016067
Abstract: An electrically driven toothbrush having a replaceable head section with a plug part which is engageable with a socket in its handle to connect its driveable head to its motor in the handle. The head section has a resiliently deformable end surface, and there is an engaging concavity and convexity in the respective meeting end surfaces of the plug part and the socket. The concavity and convexity engage to facilitate locking together of the head and handle. A separate replaceable head section for such a toothbrush is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20040010876
Abstract: An injection moulding process for making a moulded article particularly a toothbrush consisting partly of a hard first plastics material by providing a first injection mould introducing a component into the cavity adjacent to the surface; injecting a plastics material into the cavity so that the plastic material is fixed to the component and the component forms part of the outer surface of the article. In a second moulding operation another material such as an elastomer may be injected. A toothbrush product made by this process is also described.

  • Patent number: 6668416
Abstract: A toothbrush having a resiliently flexible composite region between its head and handle which comprises one or members of generally triangular shape in section either made of a resilient elastomeric material different to the hard plastic material of the toothbrush head and handle, or made of a hard plastic material.

  • Patent number: 6464920
Abstract: A process for making a molded article of two components e.g., plastic material and elastomer, in which internal cores are used to form a hollow toothbrush body, and elastomer is injected to form surface features. The toothbrush body can be made bulky in shape but light by virtue of being hollow.

  • Patent number: 6458712
Abstract: A process is described for recycling test wafers used for quality control or damaged wafers used in the context of chip production by regenerative removal of the previously applied layers. The method is based on the object of developing a cost-effective, environmentally friendly and time-saving regeneration method. The object is achieved by removing the applied layers by wet blasting using a specific blast material.

  • Patent number: 6185779
Abstract: A toothbrush having a head (2) which is made flexible by virtue of being made in the form of a number of segments (2A-E), each linked by thin integral links (7) of defined thickness and length, and the link may also incorporate an elastomeric material (9) to modify flexibility. The invention provides improved flexibility characteristics of the head.
