  • Patent number: 8957772
Abstract: A system for detection of braking of a vehicle may include a device provided in a first vehicle. The device may be in communication with a detector mounted to the first vehicle to monitor an area in front of the first vehicle. The detector may detect light emitted by the rear lights of a second vehicle when the second vehicle is ahead of the first vehicle in the monitored area. The device may acquire data from the detector and analyze the acquired data in order to detect an optical signal emitted by the rear lights of the second vehicle. The optical signal may encode information indicative of a braking procedure being performed by the second vehicle. • Patent number: 8955655
Abstract: With an apparatus for the shock absorption of rope structures, in particular for rockfall, land slide and snow barriers, at least one intermediate piece (1; 1?) deformable by tensile forces is provided which is accommodated within a rope subjected to tension. The intermediate piece (1, 1?) comprises one or more longitudinal elements (7, 8, 20) which can respectively be in the form of a strip, bar, wire, rope and/or strand. The longitudinal element or elements (7, 8, 20) are connected by their one end (7a, 8a; 20a) to the one rope end. On the other hand, they are guided about a deflection element (10; 10?) connected to the other rope end. Means are provided by means of which the deflection angle of the longitudinal element or elements formed upon loading the intermediate piece (1, 1?) is substantially sustained. The shock absorption characteristics can thus be better defined and optimised.

  • Publication number: 20150042326
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device for measuring currents or magnetic fields using at least one Hall sensor, which is operated with spinning current technology. In addition to first sample values for calculating a spinning current measurement value (6), second sample values are formed from the digitally converted sensor signals (1) of the Hall sensor in the method. The second sample values are formed over shorter periods of time (9) and are corrected with an offset, which is calculated from the spinning current measurement value (6) and the first sample values. In addition to the precise spinning current measurement value (6), fast offset-corrected measurement values (10) of the magnetic field or current are obtained using the method and the associated device, without elaborate calibration or additional analogue circuitry expenses.
