  • Publication number: 20140225592
Abstract: The invention describes a method for detecting isolated operation of power generation instillations (5) which are set up to generate electrical power and can be coupled to an interconnected power supply system (1) for feed operation. The power generation installation (5) operates in isolation with respect M the interconnected power supply system when no power is exchanged between the power generation installation (5) and the interconnected power supply system (1). The method has the steps of; recording the temporal profile of the maims frequency present in the region in which the power generation installation (5) is connected to the interconnected power supply system (1) and evaluating the temporal profile of the mains frequency in order to detect isolated operation.

  • Publication number: 20140229175
Abstract: Voice-interfaced, in-vehicle assistance includes receiving a voice-based query from a user in the vehicle, and then determining at least one of a user emotional state, user expertise level and speech recognition confidence level associated with the voice-based query. A text-based query may then be derived from the voice-based query, and used to search a help database for answers corresponding to the voice-based query. At least one response is then provided to the user in the form of voice-based assistance in accordance with at least one of the user emotional state, user expertise level and speech recognition confidence level.

  • Patent number: 8800949
Abstract: A vehicle seat memory track assembly including two pairs of upper and lower seat rails that are positioned on opposite sides of a seat bottom of a vehicle seat, a seat track locking system, and a first actuator is operably connected to the seat track locking system. The first actuator includes a release lever positioned externally to the nested upper and lower seat rail pairs, and movable from a non-activated position to an activated position whereby the release lever causes an activation bracket to disengage the seat track locking system to allow slidable longitudinal movement of the seat to a different desired seating position. A memory system, when activated, records the longitudinal travel of the seat.

  • Patent number: 8800598
Abstract: Devices for conveying fuel are known having a conveying assembly and a pump holder holding the conveying assembly which has a receptacle for the conveying assembly and a holder connected to the receptacle via three damping elements. The damping elements damp the structure-born noise transmission from the conveying assembly to the adjacent components. The damping elements each have a cantilever section which projects starting from the receptacle into the region of the holder and runs in the radial direction and circumferential direction. The cantilever sections are designed as elastic spring arms, the axial deflection thereof in respect of a pump axis being able to exceed a maximum allowable value by means of external acceleration forces. The mechanical stresses occurring in the spring arms can lead to damage to the spring arms.

  • Patent number: 8801381
Abstract: A turbine blade is provided having an airfoil and a platform manufactured in two separate pieces, which are joined together. The blade includes a seal, which is a mechanically decoupled seal, interposed between the airfoil and platform in a position closer to a hot gases path than a joint.

  • Publication number: 20140217385
Abstract: The invention relates to a light source (1) comprising a light generating unit (2) like an organic light emitting diode and an outcoupling device (3) for coupling light out of the light generating unit in an outcoupling direction (4). The outcoupling device comprises a first region (5) for facing the light generating unit, a second region (7) having a refractive index being smaller than the refractive index of the first region, and a structured intermediate region (6) between the first region and the second region. The first region is optically homogenous and has a thickness in the outcoupling direction being larger than a coherence length of the light, thereby reducing generally possible wavelength dependent interference effects and, thus, a corresponding degradation of the outcoupling efficiency. The outcoupling efficiency can therefore be increased.

  • Publication number: 20140218027
Abstract: In magnetic resonance imaging using a measurement sequence of the “free precession of transverse magnetization in the steady state”-type i.e., an SSFP measurement sequence, during the SSFP measurement sequence, the implementation of a preparation sequence takes place to reduce a signal contribution of the transverse magnetization in an outer region surrounding a measurement region in the MR imaging. The implementation of the preparation sequence includes the radiation of a multidimensional, spatially selective RF pulse that acts in a spatially selective manner on the transverse magnetization in the outer region. Saturation of the transverse magnetization and/or dephasing of the transverse magnetization in the outer region can be achieved by the multidimensional, spatially selective RF pulse.

  • Patent number: 8794008
Abstract: In a method for the low-CO emissions part load operation of a gas turbine with sequential combustion, the air ratio (?) of the operative burners (9) of the second combustor (15) is kept below a maximum air ratio (?max) at part load In order to reduce the maximum air ratio (?), a series of modifications in the operating concept of the gas turbine are carried out individually or in combination. One modification is an opening of the row of variable compressor inlet guide vanes (14) before engaging the second combustor (15). For engaging the second combustor, the row of variable compressor inlet guide vanes (14) is quickly closed and fuel is introduced in a synchronized manner into the burner (9) of the second combustor (15). A further modification is the deactivating of individual burners (9) at part load.

  • Patent number: 8793844
Abstract: A locking tongue has a base part, a webbing slot in the base part and a locking cam. The locking cam is movable between a rest position and a clamping position. A biasing means biases the locking cam towards the rest position. The locking cam can assume the rest position in which the belt webbing can pass freely through the webbing slot, a clamping position in which the locking cam presses the belt webbing against the clamping edge of the webbing slot, the biasing means being able to return the locking cam from the clamping position into the rest position, and a locking position in which the locking cam locks the belt webbing in the webbing slot, the biasing means not being able to return the locking cam from the locking position towards the rest position.
