  • Patent number: 8812097
Abstract: A non-invasive blood glucose concentration sensing system and method includes sensing neurophysiological brain activity of the user during visual pigment regeneration in an eye of the user, and correlating the sensed neurophysiological brain activity to the glucose concentration in the blood of the user.

  • Publication number: 20140164983
Abstract: A system and method are provided for employing an intelligent stencil mask to interact with a touch screen interface and thereby reduce the probability of accidental control function activation. A touch screen interface onboard an aircraft is coupled to a processor and is configured to generate a first virtual mask having a first region and a second region. A user interaction is then detected with one of the first region and the second region. A first reconfigured virtual mask is generated if the user interacted with the second region. However, an aircraft control function is activated if the user interacted with the first region.

  • Publication number: 20130249809
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for improving touch utility on a touch screen display user interface providing a rule-based mask that enables or limits a function in a way that allows a user or developer to enhance precision or efficiency of input, or to create a unique modality of input. A method of touch-based user interaction with a touch screen device includes providing a virtual mask overlaying one or more of a plurality of virtual objects on the touch screen device and defining a mask area, sensing a touch within the mask area, the touch generating a touch data signal, and applying one or more combination of interaction, graphical rendering and/or visual feedback rules to the touch data signal and graphical objects. The interaction, graphical rendering and visual feedback rules can exist individually or in combination.

  • Patent number: 8161623
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing an articulated shaft structure for the transfer of torque from a transmission to a differential drive, including a connecting flange having a tube section, a shaft plate disposed between the connecting flange and a transmission output flange and forming a torsion element for accommodating some articulation of the connecting flange relative to the output flange, and a centering part extending from the connecting flange for aligning the articulated shaft relative to a transmission shaft, the connecting flange is formed integrally with the tube section by deep-drawing in follow-on tool the tube section and, in the same manufacturing step, punching openings into the flange, and deep-drawing the centering part and pressing it into the tube section.

  • Publication number: 20120001771
Abstract: A computer based system for providing a driver assist information for a vehicle driver comprises a capturing device that captures an image, a recognition device that recognizes an object or a situation in the captured image, and a categorizing device that assigns a category of a predetermined set of categories to the recognized object or situation. The system also includes a status determining device of the vehicle that determines an operating status of the vehicle, and a driver assist device that automatically generates the driver assist information based on the determined operating status and the category.

  • Publication number: 20070065062
Abstract: In an intermediate bearing for a drive shaft and the manufacture thereof wherein the bearing includes a bearing carrier having mounting surfaces and a support opening for accommodating an elastic support part resiliently supporting the drive shaft, the support opening is manufactured at least in a vertical direction with an extension exceeding the diameter of the elastic support part which is vulcanized into the support opening at a desired level over the level of the mounting surfaces while, at the same time, any space in the support opening around the elastic support part is filled with vulcanizing material for firmly supporting the elastic support part in the support opening at a desired height level.
