  • Patent number: 6129794
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a gear wheel including a shaft and a tooth system. The method includes the steps of hardening and annealing the gear wheel, heating the gear wheel to an annealing temperature, spinning the gear wheel when the annealing temperature is reached, spinning the gear wheel while cooling the gear wheel and grinding the gear wheel to a final size. • Patent number: 6126357
Abstract: In a friction- and form-grip connection of rotating components (1, 2) which have different expansion behavior in the region of the connection during rotation, the form grip is effected via a stepped centering seat (3). The friction grip between the two components is effected by way of axially prestressed elements. At least one of the components has a cavity (6) in the interior, in which cavity (6) an insert ring (7), which exerts a radial force on the centering seat (3) during operation, is arranged. The prestressed insert ring (7) bears with only part of its axial extent against the component (1) interacting with it.

  • Patent number: 6106188
Abstract: A joint between a first and a second joint partner where each joint partner has at least one flat, cylindrical surface section via which force is applied to the other joint partner. The joint partners being brought into contact with one another in a sliding fashion such that the flat, cylindrical surface sections of the joint partners partially overlap and form a common bearing surface in the contact region. The flat, cylindrical surface sections of the joint partners are each bonded on one side by an undercut and the joint partners are joined such that the common bearing surface of the joint partners is bounded in one direction by the undercut of the first joint partner and in the opposite direction by the undercut of the second joint partner. This arrangement allows zones of maximum stress gradient to be shifted into the region of the undercut structures and for crack-opening, surface-parallel stresses to be substantially avoided.

  • Patent number: 6098009
Abstract: A method of controlling turbomachines is specified, a characteristic signal, in particular a performance signal, normally being fed to the controller as a controlled variable, but this performance signal, together with a number of further signals significant of the performance from the plant circuit, forming a signal set in a comparison and selection unit, and the signals from this signal set being compared with one another. The maximum selection among the signals, formed at the same time in the comparison and selection unit 2.1, yields the signal of the controlled variable that is forwarded to the controller 1.1. In addition, monitoring as to whether the performance signal is the maximum signal is performed. In addition, a device for controlling turbomachines according to the method is specified, which device has a control loop 1 for the output of actuating signals for control devices of the plant, the control loop 1 being preceded by a monitoring loop 2 that has a comparison and selection unit 2.

  • Patent number: 6070533
Abstract: An improved cableway system for providing a track over which a vehicle traverses. The improved system includes a catenary cable system and a pair of track cable systems. The track cable systems are hung from the catenary cable system and support tracks over which a vehicle traverses. A plurality of hangers is employed to suspend the track cable systems from the catenary cable system. A plurality of pylons support the catenary and track cable systems. A pylon includes a base pylon, a lower saddle, and an upper saddle. The lower saddle is pivotally mounted to the base pylon and supports the track cable systems. Preferred embodiments of the lower saddle include apparatuses that dampen the application of loads to the pylon by the vehicle traversing the system. The upper saddle is supported by the base pylon and supports the catenary cable system while providing for deflection of the catenary cable system in response to forces applied to the cableway system.

  • Patent number: 5942678
Abstract: In the case of a method for tracing leaks in the closed or half-cooling system of a gas turbine installation, the parts of the gas turbine installation to be cooled being cooled by means of a cooling fluid (15) other than air, and the cooling fluid (15) flowing in a special cooling fluid circuit (16), and the leak in the cooling system leading to the cooling fluid (15), entering the hot gas channel of the gas turbine (3), samples are taken from the exhaust gas (10) from the gas turbine and concentration measurements, preferably of the cooling fluid (15), are carried out on these samples. The sample taking and concentration measurement may be carried out continuously or periodically. The concentration measurement results are passed to an alarm or a protection system (21) by means of which overheating of inadequately cooled parts of the turbine (3) is prevented.

  • Patent number: 5313782
Abstract: In a combined gas/steam power station plant which consists essentially of a fossil-fired gas turbine group and a steam circuit, with an exhaust heat boiler (11) in between, intercooling and reheat are provided to maximize the efficiency. The gas turbine group consists of two compressors (1, 2), of two combustion chambers (7, 9) and of two turbines (8, 10). Downstream of the first compressor (1), there is an intercooler (3) and on the cool side of this is placed an evaporator (4) which is in effective connection with the intercooler. The steam quantity formed in the evaporator (4) is introduced into a turbine (6) of the steam circuit, the result of this being a first improvement in efficiency. Downstream of the first turbine (8), there is a second combustion chamber (9) in which the exhaust gases from the first turbine (8) are processed to produce hot gases for the second turbine (10) .
