    Abstract: A system includes a driver and a controller. The driver is configured to output a signal to a preamplifier of a heat source based on a thermal compensation value to cause the heat source to heat a spot on a storage medium. The controller is configured to adjust the thermal compensation value based on a duration for which the heat source is in an active or inactive operational state. The thermal compensation value is indicative of a history of durations that the heat source was in the active or inactive operational state.

The quality of the semiconductor epitaxial layer is improved, and the present invention can easily grasp the timing of stress release when the semiconductor is grown on the heterogeneous substrate, avoid cracks in the semiconductor epitaxial layer, and form a crack free zone in the middle of the semiconductor epitaxial layer.

Each non-null entry of the plurality of entries has one of a pointer pointing to an associated data block and an identifier specific to a byte pattern of an associated data block. The techniques further involve determining, for an entry group of the plurality of entry groups, whether entries having an identifier in the entry group all have a same predetermined identifier. The techniques further involve in response to determining that the entries having an identifier in the entry group all have the same predetermined identifier, identifying the entry group as recoverable if the indirect block is corrupted. Such techniques improve reliability and performance of a storage system.

    Abstract: In the position sensorless control method in low-speed region of the fault-tolerant permanent magnet motor system based on the envelope detection and the non-orthogonal phase-locked loop of the present disclosure, the position sensorless control of the motor is implemented by injecting the high-frequency voltage signals into any two non-faulty phase windings of the motor, extracting the high-frequency response currents of the high-frequency injected phases by the digital bandpass filter, calculating the differential mode inductances of the two phase windings through the envelope detecting and signal processing, and extracting the rotor position and rotational speed signals from the estimated two phase inductances through the non-orthogonal phase-locked loop. In addition, the controller of the present disclosure is small in size, high in accuracy, and high in reliability, which can effectively meet the performance requirements of the onboard electric actuators.

    Abstract: The present disclosure describes aspects of pulse-based writing for magnetic storage media. In some aspects, a pulse-based writer of magnetic storage media determines that a string of data bits having a same polarity corresponds to a magnet longer than a threshold associated with a magnetic media writer. The pulse-based writer inserts, into the string of data bits, a transition to a polarity opposite to the same polarity of the string of data bits. The string of data bits including the inserted transition is then transmitted to the magnetic media writer to cause a write head of the writer to pulse while writing the magnet to magnetic storage media. Various aspects may also implement a control signal to mask a transition or control polarity of the magnetic media writer. By so doing, magnets may be written to the magnetic storage media more efficiently or with less distortion to neighboring tracks.
