Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to selection of a coding rate for forward error correction coding associated with Fountain code encoding. According to some aspects, a wireless device may determine a plurality of block error rates associated with a channel between the wireless device and a second device, the plurality of block error rates being associated with a plurality of coding rates. The wireless device may select a coding rate from the plurality of coding rates for forward error correction coding based on the plurality of block error rates and the plurality of coding rates. The wireless device may encode a source data packet using a Fountain code to produce a codeword, and perform the forward error correction coding on the codeword based on the selected coding rate to produce a transmit signal. The wireless device may transmit the transmit signal to the second device.

  • Publication number: 20240015791
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an uplink grant scheduling an uplink transmission that is not aligned with a fixed frame period (FFP) boundary configured for the UE. The UE may receive downlink control information (DCI) including an indication that the UE is to initiate a channel occupancy time (COT) acquisition in association with transmitting the uplink transmission. The UE may modify the indication based at least in part on the uplink transmission not being aligned with the FFP boundary and the indication indicating that the UE is to initiate the COT acquisition. The UE may transmit the uplink transmission based at least in part on the uplink grant and after the modification of the indication. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Publication number: 20240014984
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may transmit feedback, such as hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for groups of code blocks rather than for an entire transport block or individual code blocks. The wireless device may transmit an acknowledgement (ACK) or negative-acknowledgement (NACK) to provide feedback for each code block group of a set of code block groups. An ACK may indicate that code blocks in a code block group were successfully decoded, and a NACK may indicate that at least one code block in a code block group was not successfully decoded. Wireless devices may support several techniques for grouping code blocks for feedback reporting to allow for efficient retransmissions and limited overhead. Different grouping schemes may be employed depending on system constraints, device capability, link conditions, or the like.

  • Publication number: 20240008035
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may convey uplink control information (UCI) to a base station using a multi-slot or single slot uplink channels. In some cases, however, transmissions scheduled on a first set of resources allocated for multi-slot transmission of a first uplink channel may overlap with one or more slots of a second set of resources allocated for multi-slot transmission of a second uplink control channel. Accordingly, the UE may employ a number of different techniques to transmit the UCI. In a first case, the UE may map the UCI to at least one of the overlapping slots of the first uplink channel. In a second case, the UE may drop the second uplink channel which carries the UCI. In a third case, and the UE may map the UCI to an overlapping slot of the second uplink channel.

  • Publication number: 20230413070
Abstract: A method performed by a user equipment (UE) generates local gradients for a federated learning task. The method calculates a gradient Sum-Power level based on the local gradients. The method receives a mapping between gradient Sum-Power levels and scaling factors for channel inversion coefficients to process a data block into an unencoded uplink signal. The method also determines a channel inversion coefficient based on a scaling factor obtained from the mapping and the calculated gradient Sum-Power level. The method applies analog modulation and the channel inversion coefficient to the data block to form the unencoded uplink signal. The method further transmits, to a network, the unencoded uplink signal on shared uplink resources for an over-the-air computation of global gradients for the federated learning task.

  • Publication number: 20230402986
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to filtering in a transceiver of an electronic device. In some instances, active analog filters may be deployed in the transceiver of the electronic device to achieve greater linearity and/or reduce noise in the transceiver. However, as signal bandwidth grows increasingly larger, an active analog filter may consume excessive power. To remedy the excessive power consumption, a passive ladder LC filter may be used. Some LC ladder filters may include a limited quality factor (Q), which may lead to undesirable effects in the transceiver (e.g., voltage droop). To address these undesirable effects, certain components in the LC ladder filter may be relocated from an input port to a feedback chain of an amplifier coupled to the LC ladder filter. The new structure may enable components in the LC ladder filter to be tuned without causing additional voltage droop across the LC ladder filter.

  • Publication number: 20230403123
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration indicating a mapping between a set of multiple subband indices and a set of multiple encoding parameter sets. The UE may apply, at a first distribution matcher, a first encoding parameter set to a first subset of a bit stream. The UE may also apply, at a second distribution matcher, a second encoding parameter set to a second subset of the bit stream. The a first encoding parameter set may be associated with a first subband index and the second encoding parameter set may be associated with a second subband index. The UE may then transmit a first modulated bit stream on a first subband, and a second modulated bit stream on a second subband.
