  • Publication number: 20020058132
Abstract: The invention relates to a single-layered or multi-layered biaxially-oriented film, which mainly consists of a crystallizeable thermoplastic polyester and which can be produced at final speeds of 340 m/min or higher. According to the invention the film contains a polyester raw material with a specific electrical melt resistance lying within a range from 1.5×107 to 30×107 &OHgr;×cm. The invention also relates to a process for the production of the film by way of extrusion, followed by stretching, thermofixing and winding it at high speeds of 340 m/min and higher.

  • Publication number: 20020058133
Abstract: The invention relates to a single-layered or multi-layered biaxially-oriented film, which mainly consists of a crystallizeable thermoplastic polyester and which has a total thickness ranging from 4 to 25 &mgr;m. The film which is provided with a magnetic coating has a skew value of ≦1. The invention also relates to a process for the production of this film which comprises the melting of the thermoplastic polyester in an extruder, extruding it through a flat-film die (slot die), and chilling it thereafter in order to obtain a prefilm. The prefilm is then stretched, the stretched film is thermofixed and the thermofixed final film is seamed and wound up. After the winding process the film roll is, submitted to an aging process.

  • Publication number: 20020003809
Abstract: Quality of service is assured for connections routed via a plurality of subregions of a packet-oriented network via connection paths having prescribed transmission system resources by a resource manager in the packet-oriented network which has access to associated information relating to address ranges of the subregions, routes from source subregions to destination subregions through other subregions, and prescribed transmission system resources between the subregions. When a connection is initialized, a requested scope of resources and source and destination addresses are signaled to the resource manager, and a route through the network is ascertained. Then, taking into account the requested scope of resources and the scope of resources between the subregions of the route, a check is carried out to determine whether the initialized connection is authorized. In addition, the transmission system resources may be reserved for the initialized connection in the subregions included in the ascertained route.

  • Publication number: 20010033948
Abstract: The present invention relates to an at least single-layer, biaxially oriented film support for magnetic recording media which is predominantly composed of crystallizable polyester, having a thickness in the range from 1 to 40 &mgr;m. The film has, over its total roll length and roll width and after it has been made up into customer rolls, an electrostatic charge build-up which is in the range from −80 kV/m to +80 kV/m, the contact pressure at the roll cutters during make-up being set in the range from 300 N/m to 350 N/m. The film is drawn between electrical discharge means, which are arranged close to the roll, along the film path in the make-up machine, and is particularly suitable for high-quality audio, video or computer tapes and for floppy disks or thermal tapes.

  • Patent number: 6120278
Abstract: A device for laying a molten film 3 emerging from a slot die 2 onto a rotating take-off chill roll 1 has at least one electrode which is arranged parallel to and at a short distance from the surface of the take-off roll 1 and to which a high voltage in the range from 4 to 12 kV is applied. This electrode is, for example, a metal strip 5 which has a tapering sharp edge 6 that is oriented toward the surface of the take-off roll 1. In addition to this metal strip 5, a second electrode 27 is arranged at a distance from the surface of the take-off roll. This second electrode is a metal strip without a strip edge and has applied to it a voltage of a magnitude that is equal to or different from that of the metal strip 5. As a result, electric fields are formed in addition to the electric field from the one metal strip electrode 5.

  • Patent number: 5980794
Abstract: The invention relates a control or regulation of a multipiston squeeze head or block squeeze head of a molding machine for clay-bonded molding sand (molding material). In an active pressing process with a squeeze head moving in downward direction, e. g. consisting of multislides or multipistons, the displacement of individual multislides has so far been detected through by end switches (approach switches) or through inductive stroke transducer. Thus, reached positions are registered and processed in a control means. Subject matter of the invention is an adaptation of influenceable parameters to obtain a sand mold of good quality on a long-term basis. Surprisingly, the measurement of the flown oil (Q;q.sub.t (t)) provides a basis for the improvement of the sand mold. If models of different sizes are molded subsequently, the quantity of sand required is different. According to the control signal of the invention (Q;q.sub.t (t)), more or less sand is filled into the bunker.

This electrode is, for example, a metal strip 4, which has a tapering strip edge 6 this is directed toward the surface of the take-off roll 1. In addition to this metal strip 4, one or a plurality of electrodes 5, 8 and 16 are arranged at a distance from the surface of the take-off roll. These additional electrodes have applied to them an electric voltage whose magnitude is the same as or different from that applied to the metal strip 4. As a result, additive electric fields to the electric field of the one metal-strip electrode are formed.

  • Patent number: 5916443
Abstract: In a filter apparatus 1, a central filter rod 6 is arranged in the interior 14 of a filter housing 2, the diameter d of which filter rod tapers in the direction of flow of the plastic melt. On the filter rod 6 are arranged filter discs 7 which are parallel to one another and have outer and inner diameters of equal size. The filter apparatus 1 operates as a continuous-flow filter apparatus in which the plastic melt flows in via an intake 4 and flows out via an outlet 5. A filter housing wall inner surface 3 tapers in the direction of flow of the plastic melt, so that a gap width h.sub.a (x) between a filter disc outer rim 8 and the filter housing wall inner surface 3 decreases in the direction of flow of the plastic melt.

  • Patent number: 5856231
Abstract: A process for producing high-resistance SiC from low-resistance SiC starting material. The flat (shallow) donor levels of a prevailing nitrogen impurity are overcompensated by admixture of a trivalent doping element with the concentration of the doping element in the SiC being such that it changes the conductivity type from a n-conductivity to a p-conductivity. In addition, a transition element is added having donor levels approximately in the middle of the SiC energy gap, so that the excess acceptor levels are in turn compensated and a high specific resistance is achieved.

  • Patent number: 4540464
Abstract: After cleaning and removal of oxidic layers, the defective copper conductors are completely etched off the surface of the external planes of a multilayer circuit board, and the copper on the walls of the plated through holes is etched at an etching rate continuously decreasing toward the center of the hole walls. Subsequently, an activating layer of copper is applied on the surface of the substrate and on the adjacent parts of the surface of the hole walls. Copper conductors defined by a photoresist mask in a known manner, are deposited on the surface of the activating layer following the additive technique, the copper is deposited on the entire surface of the hole walls. As the maximum etching depth of the copper on the hole wall is approximately 0.2 mm maximum, and as the activating layer is applied up to a depth of approximately 1.2 mm a perfect copper overlap on the walls is ensured.
