    Abstract: A non-yellowing decorative epoxy resin aggregate binder formulation is disclosed. The formulation comprises 100 parts by weight polyepoxide, 24.8 parts by weight of a specified polyoxypropylene diamine, 26 parts by weight nonylphenol and 4 parts by weight m-xylylenediamine.Nonylphenol gives the formulation strength with flexibility and resistance to weathering with a high gloss appearance. M-xylylenediamine prevents yellowing of the clear coating.The formulation is useful as a clear coating to bind aggregate (colored pebbles or shell) to a cement surface to form a decorative coating. The formulation is distinguished by its clear, non-yellowing appearance.

    Abstract: The adhesion properties of amine cured epoxy resins are unexpectedly enhanced by addition of a certain combination of high and low molecular weight polyoxyalkylene polyamines. The adhesively superior epoxy resin composition comprises a vicinal polyepoxide, a curing amount of a combination of about 85 wt. % or more of certain polyoxyalkylene polyamines having a molecular weight of less than about 450 and 15 wt. % or less of a polyoxyalkylene polyamine of greater than two primary amine functionality and a molecular weight of about 5,000 and above.

    Abstract: A self curing aqueous solution/dispersion comprising about 50-70 wt. % water, about 25-35 wt. % of a novel N-polymethylene substituted polyoxypropylene polyamine and about 3-9 wt. % of a curable polymer-forming component such as an epoxy-resin is described. The solution is useful for injection into permeable earth formations such as unconsolidated sands to reduce their permeability and consolidate the formation. Novel N-substituted polyamines of the formula [NaO.sub.3 S--R.sub.1 ].sub.m A wherein R.sub.1 is a C.sub.2 to C.sub.6 polymethylene group and A is a polyoxyalkylene polyamine are employed in the solution to render the epoxy-resin component adequately soluble or dispersible in the aqueous solution and to act as the curing agent for the resin.

    Abstract: A process for the accelerated cure of an epoxy resin is disclosed. The resulting epoxy resin may be used in protective coatings, adhesives, seamless and terrazo flooring and caulking and sealing compositions. The resulting resin system is also useful, for example, in casting, potting, in escapulating, grouting and patching. The process involves mixing an epoxy resin of the polyhydric phenol, polyglycidyl ether type with a novel accelerator-hardener which is a condensation product of phenol, formaldehyde and an aminoalkylene derivative of a polyoxyalkylenepolyamine.
