  • Patent number: 5037015
Abstract: A cap having a body which may be insertably mounted into the open top of a container and form a fluid-tight seal therewith an interior cavity, and a valve aperture positioned to fluidly communicate with the interior cavity and the receptacle portion of the container when the cap is mounted thereon. A valve member slidably carried on a valve post is disposed across the valve aperture, thereby normally sealing the valve aperture. The valve post may be moved to selectively open the valve aperture by depressing a thumb pad, and will automatically return to the closed position when the thumb pad is not being pressed due to the action of a spring. One or more enclosed spouts are molded integrally with the cap body, and fluidly communicate with the interior cavity. These spouts may be positioned at the sides, rather than the front, of the containers.

  • Patent number: 4984690
Abstract: A simple device for separating pans of food stored in a vertical array, preventing the contents of the pan below from contacting the bottom of the pan above. The pan stacking device is used two at a time along with conventional food storage pans as commonly found in the food preparation industry. The ends of the devices include preferably intermittent or staggered shoulders for fitting snugly to the flange rims of the pan below and the outer surface of the pan above, thereby maintaining the stacked pans in relatively sturdy, stable position. The preferred embodiment of the pan stacking device is adjustable so as to fit food storage pans and containers of various sizes.

  • Patent number: 4546237
Abstract: A single cup electric heating device for heating a cup of tea, coffee or the like includes a generally vertically oriented mounting support having a flat rear surface adapted to be mounted on the wall of a motel room, hotel room or the like. The mounting support has a horizontal cup holder at its lower end for supporting the cup to be heated. Cooperating guides on the cover and sides of the mounting support slidably guide the cover for shifting movement between a raised position permitting a cup to be placed on the cup holder and a lowered position covering a cup so placed. An electric immersion heating element carried by the cover is immersed in the contents of the cup when the cover is in the lowered position and is energized by cooperating electrical contacts on the cover and mounting support which engage in the lowered cover position. An electromagnetic retaining mechanism simultaneously energized with the heating element retains the cover in its lowered position.

  • Patent number: 4117948
Abstract: The combination cooking, serving and eating unit disclosed herein employs a heat-resistive deck-like invertible body which has multi-functional rather deep protruding endless flanges on both sides thereof. These two flanges are of different area dimensions for respectively receiving and insulating, selectively usable cooking pans containing piping hot foods. The outer peripheral edges of the two flanges are smooth and preferably continuous to seal with upper portions of the cooking pans in use. The two pans constituting parts of the invention, made of metal or other heat-transmissive material in configuration and depth are made to conform in shapes to the two different pockets formed by the two said flanges with the deck portion of the body with the aforesaid spaced insulating relation. The end portions of the invertible heat resistive body are extended somewhat to provide handle portions to facilitate handling and serving of the assembled device with the piping hot dish therein.
