  • Patent number: 6514448
Abstract: The process is used for tempering preforms made of a thermoplastic material; the preforms are to be blow molded. The preforms are provided with a temperature profile along a circumference. The temperature profile is generated by differentially heating strip-shaped regions, which extend in the direction of a longitudinal axis of the preform. A step-by-step tempering for the purpose of temporally sequential thermal conditioning of different regions of the preform is carried out with movement phases and rest phases. A carrier device is rotated by the interactions of a gear and a matching gear for initiating rotational movements. The preform is moved, motionless with regard to the rotational direction, through the tempering zone at least along a portion of the transport path before the start of the engagement of the gear with the matching gear.

  • Patent number: 4943228
Abstract: The blowing wheel and preferably the heating wheel as well as a large blow molding machine are rotatably supported in a centerfree peripheral bearing means. The heating and blow wheels are constructed as wheel rings to provide a profile free of distortion, wobbling motions or, respectively, peripheral vertical deviations of the wheels are thus prevented and the delivery of parisons of thermoplastic material for processing on the wheels takes place with high accuracy.

  • Patent number: 4943229
Abstract: The invention relates to a control means for actuating the valves for supplying pressurized blowing fluid and working fluid to the blow mold stations of the blow wheel of a blow mold machine. The blow wheel comprises a center-free wheel ring of which the outer periphery is rotatably supported on a base. Facing the inner periphery of the wheel ring there is a stationary rail on which carriages are adjustably mounted. The carriages accommodate cams for actuating the plungers of the valves mounted on the wheel ring through a yoke which provides a self-holding action. Thus, adjusting of proper valve operation is facilitated while the operation of the blow molding machine is continued.

  • Patent number: 4283926
Abstract: The flat knitting machine having two pairs of consecutively arranged needle beds and a plurality of knit carriages circulating in one direction above the needle beds and each supporting adjustable control bars cooperating with stationary control plates arranged between the pairs of needle beds, includes a control device for controlling the position of the control bars by means of a plurality of parallel tracks formed in respective control plates to guide the assigned control bar in a plurality of control positions. The ends of respective tracks are arranged in different consecutively arranged sections and each section movably supports a pair of switching flaps or guides activated by separate control members. The control guides in each section are activated simultaneously and independently from one another so that when the advancing control bars leaves one section the latter is ready for readjustment according to the desired position of the control bar in the subsequent carriage.
