  • Patent number: 7246784
Abstract: A spring-loaded shelf for an existing beverage cooler, which obviates the need for a user to reach more deeply within the confines of the cooler for a beverage as the contents of the cooler become depleted. The spring-loaded shelf has a base, a platform pivotally attached to the base by two scissor-type linkages, and a lifting mechanism for selectively and automatically raising the platform with respect to the base upon the scissor-type linkages, as the weight of the beverages placed upon the platform gradually decreases. Use of the spring-loaded shelf prevents injury to the user while retrieving a beverage from the cooler, and also provides for increased accessibility and visibility of the contents of the cooler.

  • Patent number: 6612469
Abstract: A dropping bottle for liquids, particularly pharmaceutical products, comprising an elastically deformable drop dispenser pipette, which is provided, at its top, with a dispensing hole and is coupled hermetically, in a downward region, to the neck of the bottle, and a cap for the upper closure of the pipette, at least one pair of mutually opposite semirigid wings, which wrap coaxially around the pipette and are adapted to compress it, by radial action of two fingers, in order to dispense constant doses of the contained liquid, the wings being shorter than, or as long as, the pipette.

  • Patent number: 4793856
Abstract: A method for the gaseous reduction of particulate iron ore to sponge iron product in a vertical shaft reactor having a reduction zone in the upper portion thereof, a cooling zone in the lower portion thereof and an intermediate zone between the reduction and cooling zones. In order to reduce the tendency of the hot sponge iron to sinter and agglomerate, and stick to the walls of the reactor, and to give a more uniform product, a cool gas stream is introduced into the intermediate zone and caused to flow downwardly along the wall of the intermediate zone to cool the peripheral portion of the body of reduced ore flowing from the reduction zone through the intermediate zone.

  • Patent number: 4608240
Abstract: A method for the desulfurization of sour natural gas containing sulfur contaminants wherein the natural gas is first heated to a temperature in the range of 250.degree. C. to 450.degree. C. and then contacted with a bed of sponge iron to remove at least a portion of the sulfur contaminants to form a sweet natural gas.

  • Patent number: 4428772
Abstract: A method is disclosed for achieving improved reduction efficiency and economy in the reduction of particulate metal ores, e.g. iron ore, in a vertical shaft, moving bed reactor having a reduction zone in which a heated reducing gas is caused to flow through a portion of the ore bed to reduce the metal ore thereof to metal; e.g. sponge iron. The improved efficiency and economy is achieved through an integrated reduction system in which a conventional reformer is used without the need to upgrade the reformed gas prior to feeding it directly to the reduction reactor as a reducing gas.

  • Patent number: 4331021
Abstract: A contrast resolution tissue-equivalent ultrasound test phantom comprises a block of material having ultrasonic propagation characteristics similar to that of human or animal tissue. A plurality of contrast objects are embedded in the block, each having a different reflectivity. The contrast objects have at least one dimension wherein the size of the object in cross-section decreases so that periodic ultrasonic scans of all of the objects simultaneously produce successive displays of plural cross-sectional patterns, the pattern in each display having the same size but different contrasts whereas the pattern size changes for successive displays.
