Abstract: Disclosed is a method for controlling a refrigerator comprising a main body formed with a storage compartment accommodating therein food, a door opening and closing the storage compartment, a temperature sensor provided within the main body, detecting a temperature thereof, and a cooling means provided in the main body, cooling the storage compartment, comprising the steps of establishing a control temperature of the temperature sensor to correspond to the temperature of the storage compartment; and continuously operating the cooling means until the temperature detected by the temperature sensor reaches the control temperature at an initial operation state. With this configuration, because the compressor is continuously operated until the temperature detected by the temperature sensor reaches the control temperature, the rate of cooling the stored food is enhanced and at the same time a desired storage temperature is achieved.

Abstract: A method of and apparatus for merging bit streams for seamless reproduction, and a recording medium for recording control information for bit stream merging. System clock reference (SCR) control information representing whether the SCR value of a bit stream is temporally discontinuous with respect to that of the preceding bit stream at the boundary between the two bit streams is recorded when the two bit streams are being merged. Thus, even where the SCR value at the boundary between merged bit streams rapidly changes when the merged bit stream is reproduced, seamless reproduction is accomplished. The SCR control information includes at least one among a control information identifier, a control information length indicator, a discontinuity indicator, and other information.

Abstract: A digital video playback apparatus which selectively reproduces video signals that are recorded by using a plurality of cameras each at different angles and method therefor. The digital video playback apparatus reads out first and second video steam data and first and second audio stream data, which are compressed and recorded on a recording medium. A demultiplexer separates a signal output of the digital playback apparatus into system information, the first and second video stream data, and the first and second audio stream data. First and second video decoders expand the first and second compressed video stream data outputs, respectively. First and second audio decoders decode the first and second audio stream data outputs from the demultiplexer and expand the first and second audio stream data decoded into original 4-channel audio signals, respectively. A key input section generates first and second angle selection signals.

A time displaying apparatus for an automatic vending machine has a timer for counting a current time. A control part generate a control signals to display a current time counted by the timer when coins are not inserted in the mechanism after having checked the state of coins inserted, to display the amount of coins detected by the coin detecting mechanism when the coins are inserted. A display part displays selectively the current time or the amount of coins according to the control signal of the control part.
