Abstract: Disclosed is a method for preparing a protein having a new function. The method comprises (A) a functional element-designing step of designing functional elements required for a new function desired to impart to an existing protein scaffold; (B) a functional element-inserting step of simultaneously inserting at least two gene fragments corresponding to the designed functional elements into a protein scaffold gene; and (C) a mutant screening and improving step of screening a mutant having a new function from a library of mutants inserted with the mutant genes, and improving and optimizing the function of the screened mutant using a directed evolution technique. The method for preparing can be widely used for the development of therapeutic proteins and the creation of industrial enzymes in the fields of bioengineering and biotechnology.

  • Publication number: 20080302716
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hollow fiber membrane module. The hollow fiber membrane module includes a central water pipe, a central air pipe, and a plurality of small modules. The small modules include a plurality of housings, a hollow fiber membrane, a fixing part, a collector, and a diffusing unit. The housings are vertically provided with the central water pipe, connected to the inlet and the outlet, and arranged along an external circumferential surface of the central water pipe. The hollow fiber membrane is provided in the respective housings and performs water treatment by a pressure difference. The fixing part fixes a lower part of the hollow fiber membrane to the housing. The collector is formed in a lower part of the housing and communicated with an inner path of the hollow fiber membrane to collect water treated by the hollow fiber membrane and flow it to the inlet.

  • Publication number: 20060225867
Abstract: A heat sink apparatus is provided for an electronic device. The heat sink apparatus includes a body in which an inlet and an outlet are formed. A heat absorbing fluid flows through a plurality of channels. An inflow guide unit has a cross-section that narrows as it extends away from the inlet to guide substantially the same amount of the heat absorbing fluid into each of the channels. An outflow guide unit formed substantially identically to the inflow guide unit guides the heat absorbing fluid from the channels to the outlet.

  • Publication number: 20060194087
Abstract: A cooling system using fuel of a fuel cell as a refrigerant comprises a fuel cartridge for storing fuel for a fuel cell stack that generates electricity and heat by an electrochemical reaction. The system further comprises a heat collection unit for lowering a temperature of an electronic device by allowing the fuel to absorb the heat generated from the electronic device, and a heat dissipating unit for dissipating the heat absorbed from the electronic device to an external side. The fuel stored in the fuel cartridge circulates between the heat collection unit, the heat dissipating unit, and the fuel cartridge, thereby lowering the temperature of the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 6781793
Abstract: A disc cartridge having a case to accommodate a disc, a shutter to open or close an opening formed in the case to enable a recording and/or reproducing job with respect to the disc, a discharge path provided at one side of the case to allow the flow of air formed therein during rotation of the disc, and an opening/closing mechanism to open/close the discharge path. Thus, since the discharge path through which the flow of air produced inside the cartridge during rotation of a disc is smoothly discharged to the outside is provided, contamination of the disc by foreign material such as dust can be considerably reduced.
