  • Patent number: 4202474
Abstract: A machine for spreading fertilizer and seed in which the width of the machine with respect to its working direction of travel is greater than its length with respect to the working direction of travel. The machine comprises at least two individual machine units having lateral and transverse sides which units are assembled together in a lateral relationship to each other by means of laterally located hitch elements on each unit. Each unit has a chassis borne at three support points by swivel wheels and is provided with additional hitch elements on the transverse side towards the working direction. On each unit at least one swivel wheel is lockable in both a working direction of travel and in a transport direction of travel which directions are at right angles to each other.

  • Patent number: 4175705
Abstract: A machine for spreading material in granular and powder form which comprises a hopper-shaped supply container and a distributing mechanism receptive of material from the container for spreading same during movement of the machine. The container has inwardly and downwardly extending walls, wherein the upper edge of the rear container wall, when the machine is in the loading position and untilted, has a distance from the ground which is smaller than the minimum distance from the ground to the edge of a dump body of a transport vehicle when the dump body is in the tilted position. The front container wall and the side container walls each include an upwardly extending prolongation connected thereto. The prolongations of the side container walls adjoin the prolongation of the front container wall.

  • Patent number: 4142685
Abstract: A machine is provided which is mountable on another vehicle for effecting the pneumatic spreading of granular material along a working direction. The machine is of the type that has a central hopper divided in its lower area by a roof shaped middle part disposed in the working direction into two sections which have outlet openings and a metering device driven through a regulating drive which is receptive of material from the outlet openings. Tubes are provided which are receptive of material from the metering device and have a portion overreaching the hopper transversely of the working direction and discharge openings at the outer extremities thereof exposed at intervals from one another transversely of the working direction. A blower is situated forward of the machine and has an impeller shaft which is driveable by the powered take up shaft of the vehicle pulling the machine. An air duct connects the blower to the tube.

  • Patent number: 4058180
Abstract: To facilitate broadcasting fertilizer from different levels above the ground, in addition to linkages for mounting the device on a three point power hitch of the tractor, linkages and an accompanying hydraulic system are provided for elevating the spreader above the level to which the tractor power hitch can raise it. The device comprises an open frame 2 formed by upright supports 5 and a cross arm 4. The open frame construction facilitates the connection of the tractor power take-off shaft to the spreader, and the connection of linkages between the tractor and spreader for control of the metering mechanism of the spreader.

  • Patent number: 4037545
Abstract: Machine for seeding designed to be pulled by a tractor and outfitted with seed drills for depositing of the seeds in the soil. A furrow opener is mounted forward of the seed drill, and a furrow closer is mounted aft of the seed drill. The furrow closer is mounted on the frame for pivoting in a vertically extending plane behind the seed drill, and comprises a support pivotally mounted on the frame and a hiller mounted on the support by a mounting device for projection of the hiller below the mounting device and into the soil for closing of the furrow. The mounting device is secured to the support by a releasable fastener so that length of the projection of the hiller below the mounting device can be adjusted.

  • Patent number: 4020991
Abstract: A machine for broadcasting material over the ground having booms (15) which carry flexible distributing conduits (10), and extend laterally outwardly from the centrally disposed hopper (2) for broadcasting of the material, and are folded up, about horizontal pivot axes (19), against the hopper for transport of the machine over e.g., roads. Each boom includes an inner boom member (17) and an outer boom member (18) which are pivotally connected at an axis (22) so that the outer boom member can be folded into alignment with the inner boom member in the direction of travel (16). By this construction the width required for the booms when in the transport condition is reduced.
