  • Publication number: 20020019164
Abstract: A base body with a grip portion at an angle to a contact carrier can be molded in one piece and contacts in the contact passages can be provided in an inactive position until the leads of a conductor are inserted into channels intersecting the contact passages. Then the contacts are pressed into their active positions in which pointed ends of the contacts pierce the insulation of the leads and make electrical contact with the core thereof. The potting mass is filled into the space around the conductor within the sleeve segment of the gripping portion and can extend onto the conductor to form a buckling preventer. The connection is particularly suitable for connection to sensors and the like.

  • Publication number: 20010046804
Abstract: A connector has a plastic base part forming a transversely elongated slot open in a longitudinal insertion direction and formed with a plurality of seats spaced along and opening into the slot. Respective contact elements fixed in the seats each have a deflectable contact arm with a contact point exposed in the slot at the respective seat to one side of the slot and a rigid pivot arm to an opposite side of the slot having an outer end spaced longitudinally outward from the respective contact point. A pivotal clamp part having a pusher bar extending along the slot inward of the arm outer ends is pivoted on the arm outer ends between an open position extending upward away from the base part and with the pusher bar spaced widely from the contact points and a closed position closely juxtaposed down on the base part and pressing a cable down on the points for contact of cable conductors therewith.

  • Patent number: 6126494
Abstract: A connector for electrically connecting a wire to a conductive strip on a face of a printed-circuit board has a dielectric housing formed with a cavity, with a slot extending from the cavity and adapted to receive an edge of the circuit board, and with a hole opening outward from the cavity and adapted to receive the wire. A conductive one-piece spring element in the cavity has a front arm extending at an angle at least partially across the slot and a rear arm extending across the hole, formed with an aperture alignable with the hole, and deflectable between a tensioned position with the aperture aligned with the hole and a rest position with the aperture offset from the hole. The wire is engageable through the aperture and hole in the tensioned position. Alternately the rear arm presses the wire directly against the conductive strip of the circuit board engaged in the slot.

  • Patent number: 6073722
Abstract: A low reverberating room for the entire auditory range. In particular, for ow frequency ranges below 100 Hz, in which the walls and ceiling are covered with sound absorbers. The sound absorbers on a surface of about 70-90% of a room, not including the floor, have a depth of <0.5 m preferably <0.3. The sound absorber also has a closed, plane but acoustically permeable surface, are built up of multiple layers. The sound absorbers are about 20-70% in similarity to composite-plate resonators. They are also provided with inside plates, made of metal or heavy foil, which are designed of varying thickness for absorption in various frequency ranges.

  • Patent number: 6004168
Abstract: A connector has a housing formed with a cavity, with a slot extending from the cavity, adapted to receive an edge of a circuit board, and having a width substantially greater than the circuit-board width, and with a hole opening outward from the cavity and adapted to receive the wire. A conductive rocker in the cavity has a front arm extending out of the cavity through the slot, a rear arm in the cavity adjacent the hole, and a central pivot bump between the ends of the rocker. A spring in the cavity engaging the pivot pin presses the rocker laterally across the slot with the rocker front arm bearing on the strip of the board received in the slot and presses the wire received in the hole against the rocker rear arm.

  • Patent number: 5996181
Abstract: There is described an apparatus for bundling a drafted roving (4), comprising a rotating conveying surface (3) provided with air through-holes (6) succeeding each other in direction of rotation (9), and comprising a suction means connected to the conveying surface (3) on the side facing away from the roving (4) in the vicinity of the air through-holes (6), which suction means forms a slot-like suction zone (5) for the roving (4) extending in direction of rotation (9) of the conveying surface (3). To create advantageous constructional conditions, it is proposed that the suction zone (5) should have at least one suction slot tapering in direction of rotation (9) of the conveying surface (3) from at least two rows of holes to one row of holes.

  • Patent number: 5722927
Abstract: A method for manufacturing filler materials for minerally bonded structural elements with thermal treatment of the starting materials to be used as filler materials involves subjecting comminuted high-polymer materials comprised of natural or synthetic origin materials to a shock-like heat radiation treatment by passing the materials under an irradiation unit to provide a temperature gradient of at least 20K per mm of travel distance of the materials beneath the irradiation unit in which an iron temperature of more than 600.degree. C. can be measured whereby the materials are inertized and are activated by heat in the range of a molar energy of 60 to 170 kJ*mol.sup.-1 and then placing the resulting activated materials in a crystal-forming solution of inorganic substances that enter into a permanently adhesive bond with a basic matrix of a composite material to be formed therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4697412
Abstract: Apparatus for making a yarn comprises two juxtaposed, closely spaced apart twisting drums, which rotate in the same sense about parallel axes and at least one of which has a suction zone, which faces the generally triangular twisting space defined by said twisting drums between them. A fiber-guiding passage extends into said generally triangular twisting space at an oblique angle to the axes of said twisting drums and has an outlet opening, which extends along said axes and serves to supply fibers which are to be twisted together to form a yarn. In order to increase the strength of the yarn, each suction zone is enlarged in width adjacent to one end of the outlet opening of the fiber-guiding passage.
