  • Patent number: 11939288
Abstract: A process for producing alkyl methacrylates, in particular methyl methacrylate (MMA), includes production of methacrolein (MAL) in a first reaction stage; direct oxidative esterification (DOE) of the methacrolein with an alcohol, preferably methanol, to afford an alkyl methacrylate in a second reaction stage; and workup of the alkyl methacrylate crude product from the second reaction stage. An optimized workup of the reactor output from the oxidative esterification of methacrolein involves minimizing the amount of employed water, the amount of employed acid, and/or the amount of aqueous waste streams, through an optimized recycling of the generated process water streams.

  • Publication number: 20240034709
Abstract: A continuous process can be used for preparing methacrylic acid by catalytic hydrolysis of methyl methacrylate that has been prepared proceeding from C-2, C-3, or C-4 raw materials. In this process, methyl methacrylate of high purity is reacted with water in the presence of a Brønsted catalyst to give a reaction mixture containing the reactants and products and worked up in a distillation column. In the distillation column, a condensate containing an azeotrope of MMA with methanol is produced at the top, a vapour condensate containing methacrylic acid of high purity is produced in the middle part of the column, and a substance mixture containing high-boiling by-products and a small amount of methacrylic acid is obtained in the bottom of the column.

  • Publication number: 20240010604
Abstract: An improved process for synthesizing methacrylic acid and/or alkyl methacrylates, in particular methyl methacrylate (MMA), involves reacting acetone and hydrogen cyanide in the presence of an alkaline catalyst in a first reaction stage such that a first reaction mixture containing acetone cyanohydrin (ACH) is obtained. The process then involves working up the first reaction mixture containing acetone cyanohydrin (ACH), reacting acetone cyanohydrin (ACH) and sulfuric acid in a second reaction stage (amidation), and heating the second reaction mixture in a third reaction stage (conversion), such that methacrylamide (MAA) is obtained. The process further involves hydrolyzing or esterifying methacrylamide (MAA) with water and, optionally, alcohol, preferably water and optionally methanol, in a fourth reaction stage such that methacrylic acid or alkyl methacrylate is formed. The sulfuric acid used has a concentration of 98.0 wt % to 100.0 wt %.

  • Patent number: 11731931
Abstract: A novel process can be used for purifying methyl methacrylate (MMA) contaminated with low-boiling components by distillation, where the process involves producing MMA by oxidative esterification, and a crude product containing methyl propionate (MP), methyl isobutyrate (MIB), and methacrolein (MAL) as low-boiling components. The process is compatible with MMA produced from C2-based methacrolein containing the low-boiling components specified.

  • Patent number: 11680033
Abstract: A process and a preparation plant prepares methacrolein from formaldehyde and propionaldehyde, in presence of water and a homogeneous catalyst based at least on an acid and a base. A reaction mixture is introduced into a methacrolein workup plant and separated in a first distillation column, into a first distillation mixture in a gas phase at the top and a second distillation mixture in a liquid phase at the bottom. The first distillation mixture is condensed and, in a first phase separator, the organic phase and the aqueous phase of the condensate are separated from one another. The aqueous phase is introduced into a second distillation column, that is not part of the methacrolein workup plant, and is separated into a third distillation mixture in a gas phase at the top and a fourth distillation mixture at the bottom. The third distillation mixture is introduced into the methacrolein workup plant.

  • Patent number: 11542218
Abstract: A process and a preparation plant can prepare methacrolein from formaldehyde and propionaldehyde in the presence of a homogeneous catalyst mixture based at least on an acid and a base. For a good workup of the reaction mixture leaving the reactor, with a good energy balance and where the process has simplified apparatus implementation, the liquid reaction mixture under pressure is expanded in an expansion vessel and separated into a first expansion mixture in a gas phase and a second expansion mixture in a liquid phase. The first expansion mixture is condensed in a first condenser and the second expansion mixture is introduced into a first distillation column and separated therein, into a first distillation mixture in a gas phase at the top and a second distillation mixture in a liquid phase at the bottom. The first distillation mixture is condensed in the first condenser.

  • Patent number: 10363011
Abstract: The embodiments relate to a method, an analyzer, a radiation dose disturbance system, and a computer program for automatically calculating a target radiation dose of ionizing radiation. In this case, both patient-specific parameters and equipment-specific parameters are taken into account. On a cloud-based data store, reference images are read out that concern the same anatomical target region in which the imminent examination is also intended to be carried out. The anatomical target region is advantageously determined in a manner dependent on the clinical issue. The reference images are evaluated with regard to radiation dose and image quality in order to generate a target radiation dose with a corresponding control command.

  • Patent number: 9754127
Abstract: An apparatus, a method and a product for transferring security-critical medical data records via a public network are disclosed. In order to be able to transmit security-critical data sections in pseudonymized form, a pseudonymization function is adaptively applied to the data records. The pseudonymization function is in each case calculated dynamically on the basis of a processing context that has been read in and that takes account of the planned user role, the planned intended use of the data processing and an application context.

  • Patent number: 9545238
Abstract: A method and system for the diagnosis of 3D images are disclosed, which significantly cuts the time required for the diagnosis. The 3D images are for example an image volume dataset of a magnetic resonance tomography system which is saved in an RIS or PACS system. In at least one embodiment, the diagnostic finding are partially automatically generated, and details of the position, size and change in pathological structures are compared to previous diagnostic findings are generated automatically. As a result of this automation the diagnostic work of radiologists is significantly reduced.

  • Patent number: 9020304
Abstract: In order to enable improved or even optimized loading of medical image data, a data type representing the image data is determined in at least one embodiment from the image data in a first step and a data-type-specific default loading strategy is selected according to the data type. The default loading strategy may be refined, in at least one example embodiment, to produce a loading strategy based on additional context data. The context data is obtained for example during an initial assessment of the image data. For this purpose, provision is made in particular for a shared index to be generated in which the context data is stored together with further information associated with the image data of a plurality of objects that are to be examined.
