  • Publication number: 20200285975
Abstract: According to examples, an apparatus may include a processor that may generate a migration assessment for resources of a computer system. In particular, the apparatus may logically divide topological information to facilitate identification of a resource, components used by the resource, and dependencies. The system further enables users to specify user-defined migration parameters that specify the migration. For instance, the parameters may specify a cost associated with the migration of the component, a license model of the component, a security requirement of the component, a performance of the component, a customization of the component, or requirement of the component. Migration assessments and decisions may be stored to train machine-learned models. For instance, the model may assess whether a parameter will be satisfied by using a certain cloud service and whether substitutes have sufficiently satisfied dependencies based on observed migration assessments and actual migrations.

  • Patent number: 10678494
Abstract: Systems and methods for using distributed Universal Serial Bus (USB) host drivers are disclosed. In one aspect, USB packet processing that was historically done on an application processor is moved to a distributed USB driver running in parallel on a low-power processor such as a digital signal processor (DSP). While a DSP is particularly contemplated, other processors may also be used. Further, a communication path is provided from the low-power processor to USB hardware that bypasses the application processor. Bypassing the application processor in this fashion allows the application processor to remain in a sleep mode for longer periods of time instead of processing digital data received from the low-power processor or the USB hardware. Further, by bypassing the application processor, latency is reduced, which improves the user experience.

  • Publication number: 20200145900
Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to a method and system for multi-hop path selection for mobile robots based on cloud platform providing an optimal path for end-to-end communication in the multi-hop network. Multi-hop path selection for mobile robots, conventionally performed at mobile robot end, may not provide an optimal path as mobile robots are unaware of the global scenario of the multi-hop network. Further, computation at mobile robot end is not an energy efficient solution. The disclosed cloud system communicates the optimal path to the source mobile robot to reach the destination mobile robot through the plurality of Access Points (APs). Multi-hop path selection for mobile robots, currently performed at mobile robot end, may not provide an optimal path as mobile robots are unaware of the global scenario of the multi-hop network. The optimal path computed at cloud system increases the life-time of robotics network there by increasing the efficiency.

  • Patent number: 10560530
Abstract: Internet of Things (IoT) devices (101A) continuously capture raw data over a regular interval of time. The captured raw data is transmitted to gateway devices (101B) deployed in an environment, for example, a warehouse. Continuous transmission of such data leads to data redundancy, continuous channel utilization and bandwidth usage, etc. To overcome this problem, present disclosure implements a Compressive Sensing based Data Prediction (CS-DP) model that predicts data at the gateway devices by learning the data pattern received from IoT devices, estimates and computes, using a Compressive Sensing based Data Estimation (CS-DE) model, optimal data instead of considering the overall data captured at the gateway devices and reconstructs, using a Compressive Sensing based Data Reconstruction (CS-DR) model, missing data and/or corrupted data using the partial information received at the gateway devices.

  • Publication number: 20190340011
Abstract: Distributed transactions are performed over a collection of servers operating as replicas of a data set, where a successful transaction involves meeting a quorum count of replicas that locally commit the transaction. However, performance constraints of data sets and consuming applications may vary (e.g., sensitivity to latency, scalability, and/or consistency), and the performance characteristics of the server set may be partly determined by the transactional commitment and quorum selection. The distributed transaction may be applied by designating the replicas as a set of followers and a leader that initiates the transaction and receives acknowledgments of local commits by each follower. On condition of the acknowledgments meeting a quorum count for the data set according to the performance characteristics of the application, the leader locally commits the transaction and delivers a result.

  • Patent number: 10462825
Abstract: In LTE Random Access Channel (RACH) mechanism, devices use slotted ALOHA based protocol for RACH message exchange. During these messages exchange, if a device does not get a response from a base-station (BS), the device assumes that it is not able to reach base station due to insufficient transmission power and increases transmit power to reach to the base station. However, at higher density most of requests are lost due to collision. In existing RACH procedure, device unnecessarily ramps power in next RACH process which leads to power wastage in already resource constrained device. When there is failure of reception of RACH process, the present disclosure computes time delays (TD) based on a RSSI value obtained from a message transmitted by the BS, and initiates RACH process accordingly. The embodiments further enable requests transmission from device to BS by ramping power of the devices based on the computed TD.
