  • Publication number: 20230350588
Abstract: A data storage system for use in a high radiation environment includes an array of storage drives. Each storage drive includes a non-radiation-hardened drive controller, a non-radiation-hardened, non-volatile, storage medium, and a non-radiation-hardened volatile memory. The system includes a radiation-hardened storage controller coupled to the array. The radiation-hardened storage controller provides failure-resistant data redundancy among the storage drives of the array and provides host access to the array.

  • Patent number: 11803787
Abstract: A method, system, apparatus, and computer program product for efficiently outsourcing projects, such as software development projects, are presented. A business entity may precisely and succinctly define one or more requests for proposals (RFPs) using predefined service identifiers which specify discrete, short-term projects (e.g., 4 weeks or less) with fixed inputs and outputs and objective evaluation metrics which allow for each project to be evaluated using, for example, automated evaluation software tools. By posting RFPs on a web site, the business entity solicits bids from third party vendors to perform the project identified in the RFP. Since individual projects are identified with objective inputs, outputs, and evaluation metrics, vendors can bid on the project with minimal evaluation and speculation regarding the appropriate bidding price for the project.

  • Patent number: 11805087
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for controlling the unauthorized transmission of a messaging thread in a messaging platform. The method includes the step of receiving first user addresses of intended recipients through an address module. The method then includes the step of initiating a messaging thread by entering textual information and/or attaching a media file through a messaging module or both. Further, the method includes the step of pre-storing second user addresses intended to be removed from the messaging thread through a listing module. The method then includes the step of matching the first user addresses of intended recipients with the second user addresses stored in the listing module through a matching module. The method includes the step of preventing transmission of the messaging thread to the matched second user addresses pre-stored in the listing module through a filter module.

  • Patent number: 11799903
Abstract: An electronic device may receive a control packet from the second electronic device with a request for information about a router. Then, the electronic device may provide a response to the second electronic device with the information about the router, where the response is provided using unicast communication. Next, the electronic device may receive an optional acknowledgment from the second electronic device. Furthermore, the electronic device may store response information that indicates the response was provided to the second electronic device and the optional acknowledgment was received. When the electronic device receives one or more subsequent control packets from the second electronic device with the request for the information about the router, the electronic device may determine that there is malicious activity based at least in part on the response information and may perform a remedial action.

  • Patent number: 11800335
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method that identifies a first number of requests received at a first application. Based on the first number of requests received at the first application, the method determines that a second application that processes requests after processing by the first application requires additional resources to handle a second number of requests that will be received at the second application. The method increases the amount of resources available to the second application prior to the second application receiving the second number of requests.

  • Patent number: 11799956
Abstract: Certain embodiments disclosed herein reduce or eliminate a communication bottleneck at the storage manager by reducing communication with the storage manager while maintaining functionality of an information management system. In some implementations, a client obtains information for enabling a secondary storage job (e.g., a backup or restore) from a storage manager and stores the information (which may be referred to as job metadata) in a local cache. The client may then reuse the job metadata for multiple storage jobs reducing the frequency of communication with the storage manager. When a configuration of the information management system changes, or the availability of resources changes, the storage manager can push updates to the job metadata to the clients. Further, a client can periodically request updated job metadata from the storage manager ensuring that the client does not rely on out-of-date job metadata.

  • Patent number: 11796452
Abstract: A method for determining a cathodic current (such as from a cathodic protection system) in a tubular disposed within a wellbore drilled in a subterranean zone. A electromagnetic tool disposed within the tubular includes an electromagnetic transmitter, an electromagnetic receiver, a helical transmitter coil, and a helical receiver coil. An axis of the helical transmitter coil and an axis of the helical receiver coil are substantially parallel to an axis of the tubular. An electromagnetic field is transmitted by flowing a first electrical current to the helical transmitter coil. During the transmitting, an electromagnetic signal is received by the electromagnetic receiver via the helical receiver coil. A second electrical current is calculated based on the electromagnetic signal received by the electromagnetic receiver. A magnitude of the cathodic current flowing through the tubular is calculated based on a difference between the first electrical current and the second electrical current.

  • Publication number: 20230333971
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system and computer program product for optimally performing stress testing against big data management systems. A set of random test queries is generated and compiled to determine the data points of the features (e.g., table type being queried) of the set of random test queries. A distance (e.g., Mahalanobis distance) is then measured between the data points of the features and the mean of a distribution of data points corresponding to each same feature of an extracted feature set. Each random test query whose distance exceeds a threshold distance is then ranked. The ranked random test queries are then executed in order of rank. Those executed random test queries which resulted in an error (e.g., system failure) are added to a log, which is used to identify those queries to perform a stress test against the big data management system.

  • Publication number: 20230333864
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for managing mixed-reality systems. These methods or systems identify, at a management software application, a set of managed mixed-reality devices and validate a device management license against a managed mixed-reality device in the set of managed mixed-reality devices. Whether a software application installed or to be installed on the managed mixed-reality device is amenable to a software management function is verified based at least in part upon an operation mode of the managed mixed-reality device and a profile that is applied to the managed mixed-reality device or is associated with the authorized user. The software management function is programmatically performed by the management software application for the software application based at least in part upon a result of verifying whether the software application is amenable to the software management operation.
