Abstract: A system and method for identifying damage to an embankment includes acquiring satellite imagery of an area of the embankment, generating a set of input data from the satellite imagery, removing at least one anomaly in the set of input data to obtain a cleaned set of input data, and identifying the damage by determining a dam motion area indicative of ground motion in the embankment from the cleaned set of input data and determining an anomalous vegetation area and an anomalous wetness area indicative of seepage in the embankment from the cleaned set of input data.

Abstract: An ice maker has an ice tray with a plurality of ice forming cavities arranged in longitudinal succession therealong, and a water distributor extending along the tray and arranged to receive water from a water feed system. The distributor serves to distribute water evenly into the cavities without the overflow of water from one to another, thereby avoiding the formation of interconnecting webs between ice masses formed in the cavities. A level detector is provided, typically in the form of a thermistor, to detect a predetermined level of water in the tray and provide a control signal when said level is detected.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method of electroforming the epitrochoidal running track for the rotor of a rotary internal combustion engine. The method involves the electrodeposition of a sequence of plates on a mandrel of epitrochoidal shape and having a chromium surface, and casting an aluminum alloy housing onto the final plate. The sequence of plates applied to the mandrel with the chromium surface involving (1) a first plate of poor adherence selected from the group consisting essentially of nickel, cobalt, iron or their alloys, (2) a wear-resistant plate and (3) a final plate to aid in securing good adhesion of the aluminum housing cast thereon. These are the main steps. Intermediate steps may also be involved such as using two or more wear-resistant plates in step (2). Also step (1) with step (2) can be combined in one plating step.
