  • Patent number: 5472184
Abstract: 1. Apparatus for the storage and extraction of blanks (10) consisting of thin cardboard from a blank magazine (12).2.1. An extraction unit (16) having a sun wheel (17) and planet wheels (18, 19) rotating about the latter serves for the continuous extraction of blanks (10) consisting of thin cardboard from a blank magazine (12). Each planet wheel (18, 19) rotating about its own axis extracts a lower blank (10) of a blank stack (11) in the blank magazine (12) and transfers this onto the sun wheel (17). The blank is transferred from the latter, in conjunction with a transport disc (51, 52), into a blank track (14).2.2. The sun wheel (17) and the planet wheels (18, 19) grasp the blanks (10) solely in a middle region, namely in the region of a blank middle strip (46), with the exclusion of lateral folding tabs (39, 40; 41, 42).

  • Patent number: 5447262
Abstract: Apparatus for transporting a material web having lateral depressions (25, 27) arranged at regular distances from one another. For the transport of a material web (10, 35) of this type in the correct position, the web bears on a conveying drum (28) which has elevations (29, 30) for positive penetration into the depressions (25, 27). In a material web (10, 35) consisting of partially prepunched blanks (11), the conveying drum (28) serves, in cooperation with an auxilary drum (51), for forming bending points (49, 50), the material web (10, 35) being capable of being grasped by suction bores (52, 53), offset relative to one another in the circumferential direction, of the conveying drum (28), on the one hand, and of the auxiliary drum (51), on the other hand.

  • Patent number: 5375704
Abstract: A hinge-lid pack (10) for cigarettes or similar items is provided with a printing carrier (28) made of a separate blank and intended to accommodate pieces of information, advertisements, etc. The printer carrier (28) is arranged at the hinge-lid pack (10) such that a portion, namely the anchoring portion (29, 32), is located on the inner side of the lid (12), and another portion, namely a visible portion (30), projects from the hinge-lid pack and abuts the front wall (31) of the pack. The anchoring portion (29, 32) of the printing carrier (28) is severably anchored to the lid (11) by restraining the printing carrier between the lid corner tabs (19, 20) and a lid top wall (21).

  • Patent number: 5336040
Abstract: Process and apparatus for transporting stacks of blanks for producing (cigarette) packs. For the production of (cigarette) packs made of blanks (10) of thin cardboard, the blanks are delivered in the form of blank stacks (15), mainly in containers (cartons 16). Specially designed cassettes (32) are used for mechanically and mostly automatically conveying the blank stacks (15) to the packaging machines. The cassettes (32) are designed for holding the contents of a carton (16) of blank stacks (15). The cartons (16) are mechanically opened by a cutting unit (39) by way of cutting out a side wall (30). Special extraction units (59) pull out the blank stacks (15) through the open side of the carton and directly deposit these in an adjacent cassette (32). Centrally emptying the cartons (16) and mechanically transporting the blank stacks (15) by means of special implant cassettes (32) result in a mechanized transport circuit for the packaging material.

  • Patent number: 5301804
Abstract: A package, especially a soft-cup pack for cigarettes is disclosed. An inner wrapping (12) of the soft-cup pack is provided with an opening and withdrawal aid. In the region of an end wall (15), a longitudinal tab (16) is folded out s of the region of the end wall (15). The other longitudinal tab (17) serves as a closure tab for a withdrawal opening (24) which is formed in the central region of the end wall (15). The withdrawal opening (24) is enlarged because parts of side tabs (20, 21) can be moved into the open position a together with the longitudinal tab (17). Additionally, the inner wrapping (12) is provided with a withdrawal aid which is effective in the region of the withdrawal opening (24), in particular with a lift-out strip (44) which is formed from the inner wrapping (12).

  • Patent number: 5074400
Abstract: Process and apparatus for changing the relative position of packs, especially of cuboidal cigarette packs of the hinge-lid type. Prior art processes and apparatuses work with forces having shock-like impacts on the packs, so that there is a risk of the packs getting damaged. The invention guarantees gentle changes of the relative position. Each pack is turned by way of being pulled by two conveyor belts running at different velocities and being arranged at two opposite regions of the pack.
