  • Patent number: 7686373
Abstract: A combination hang-tag holder and displayer which includes a body; one or more fasteners of sufficient size to attach the body to an automobile sun visor; a hanging device located on the front of the body, either on the left side or right side, such that a hang-tag may be temporarily hung from the hanging device without requiring physical modifications to the hang-tag; and a securing device located on the front of the body on the upper corner opposite the hanging device. The combination hang-tag holder and displayer may be attached to an automobile sun visor, and a hang-tag may be hung from the hanging device for display of the hang-tag. The hang-tag may then be rotated to a horizontal position and secured by the securing device for storage.

  • Patent number: 7559825
Abstract: Semiconductor wafers have a front surface, a back surface, a notch, and an edge. A method of polishing a wafer includes polishing at least one of the surfaces and the notch of the wafer using a polishing pad and slurry. At least one surface of the wafer is cleaned of residual slurry. The cleaned surface is grasped by applying a vacuum to the cleaned surface of the wafer using a vacuum chuck. Edge of the wafer is polished using a pad and slurry while the wafer is grasped by the vacuum chuck.

  • Patent number: 7499713
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for condition and location monitoring of mobile entities. One embodiment of a system may comprise a sensor system that measures at least one real time parameter associated with the mobile entity and compares the measured at least one real time parameter to at least one predetermined threshold to determine at least one condition of the mobile entity. The system may also comprise a situational awareness (SA) beacon having a global position satellite (GPS) device that determines a location of the mobile entity and a transceiver, wherein the SA beacon periodically transmits location information and condition information via the transceiver to a central control for display.

  • Patent number: 7327318
Abstract: A flat, ultra wideband, unidirectional antenna is disclosed, the antenna may comprise a pair of active elements having the shape of substantially half-circles or half-ellipsoids made of thin conductive material and a ground element made of thin conductive material placed parallel and against to the active electrodes and spaced from them, the antenna having a nominal gain of at least 6 dbi and variations of gain in that range of +/?1.5 dbi at its bore sight.

  • Patent number: 7099152
Abstract: A system includes a computer having at least one power input connection and at least one I/O connection grouped into a first port. The system also includes a docking station that has at least one power output connection and at least one I/O connection grouped into a second port. The system further comprises a cable having a first end connectable with the first port and a second end connectable with the second port. The cable provides an interconnection between the at least one power output connection of the docking station and the at least one power input connection of the computer. The cable also provides interconnection between the at least one I/O connection of the computer and the at least one I/O connection of the docking station.

  • Publication number: 20040038544
Abstract: A method for polishing front and back surfaces of a semiconductor wafer includes the step of providing a polishing apparatus having a wafer carrier generally disposed between a first polishing pad and a second polishing pad. The first pad has a hardness significantly greater than a hardness of the second pad. The wafer is placed in the wafer carrier so that the front surface faces the first pad and so that the back surface faces the second pad. A polishing slurry is applied to at least one of the pads and the carrier, first pad and second pad are rotated. The front surface is brought into contact with the first pad and the back surface is brought into contact with the second pad for polishing the front and back surfaces of the wafer whereby less wafer material is removed from the back surface engaged by the second pad and the back surface has less gloss than the front surface after polishing so that the front surface and back surface are visually distinguishable.

  • Patent number: 6285323
Abstract: The invention comprises a flat panel antenna for microwave transmission. The antenna comprises at least one printed circuit board, and has active elements including radiating elements and transmission lines. There is at least one ground plane for the radiating elements and at least one surface serving as a ground plane for the transmission lines. The panel is arranged such that the spacing between the radiating elements and their respective groundplane is independent of the spacing between the transmission lines and their respective groundplane. A radome may additionally be provided which comprises laminations of polyolefin and an outer skin of polypropylene.

  • Patent number: 6034608
Abstract: A tornado alarm that monitors humidity, static charge in the air and the barometric pressure. Nothing happens until the level of static electricity increases to a set amount over a stored base level and the humidity reaches 100 percent. At this point the first stage alarm is activated. The device sends out an initial blast followed by a report every 60 seconds during this mode of operation. At this point, the user is awakened by the alert. The user then can turn on news reports to verify danger. Once awake, if danger exists, the user can prepare for a tornado and be ready. When the barometric pressure reaches 28 millibars, the third condition is reached. Under most circumstances, a tornado is then immanent. This sets the device into the second stage alert mode. In this mode, a continuous alarm sounds.
