  • Publication number: 20130203460
Abstract: A wireless communication system includes a private LTE base station, a commercial carrier LTE base station, and a mobile wireless communications device. The mobile wireless communications device includes an LTE transceiver, a memory, and a controller coupled to the LTE transceiver and the memory. The controller stores an assigned AC value in the memory based upon a priority of use characteristic value, stores a random AC value in the memory, and determines whether access is available to the private LTE base station or the commercial carrier LTE base station. When the private LTE base station is available for access, a connection is made based upon the assigned AC value and a private LTE barring value received from the private LTE base station. When the commercial carrier LTE base station is available for access, a connection is made based upon the random AC value and a commercial carrier barring value.

  • Publication number: 20080120146
Abstract: A method for emulating student actions in an on-line course registration system. The on-line course registration system is maintained on a first computer. A student implements the inventive method by running software on a second computer. The software running on the second computer collects log in information and desired course registration information from the student. The student then instructs the software to commence searching. The student' client computer then automatically logs into the server and searches an on-line course registration database in order to determine whether a desired course is available. If availability is found, the client computer can then take one or more of several actions previously requested by the student.

  • Patent number: 6706857
Abstract: In a process for the production of a polyolefin, an olefin monomer is polymerised said polyolefin and residual monomer is recovered. A gas stream comprising the monomer and nitrogen is subjected to a PSA process in which said monomer is adsorbed on a periodically regenerated silica gel or alumina adsorbent to recover a purified gas stream containing said olefin and a nitrogen rich stream containing no less than 99% nitrogen and containing no less than 50% of the nitrogen content of the gas feed to the PSA process.

  • Publication number: 20030034175
Abstract: An electronic device has a dielectric substrate with first and second surface and a via through the substrate connecting the first and second surfaces. A first and second sacrificial copper structure surrounds the via on the first and second surfaces, respectively, wherein each of the sacrificial structures covers an area of less than three times the horizontal cross sectional area of the via. Contemplated sacrificial structures are preferably formed in a photolithographic process.

  • Patent number: 6346923
Abstract: This invention relates to improvements in runway localizer antennas for the Instrument Landing System (ILS). The environment of modern airports has required that localizer antenna systems have larger apertures, with more elements, in order to produce the narrow beams needed to reduce multi-path interference. This, in turn, causes increases in the cost and complexity of the DU and associated coaxial feed cables. This invention uses features of a slotted cable antenna to replace a central distribution unit with a low-loss rigid copper transmission line running the entire length of the array. The radiating elements are fed from short cables through adjustable capacitors connected periodically along the rigid line.

  • Patent number: 6344822
Abstract: This invention provides an improvement in Glide Slope antenna systems of the earth-image type. The standard antenna usually is mounted on a steel tower located several hundred feet to one side of the runway, considered a safe distance to avoid being struck by an airplane. This invention, however, employs an antenna system using wide aperture slotted cable elements. Frangible construction permits it to be located safely much closer to the runway. The closer spacing, with the wide aperture, provides for a vertical guidance pattern that is narrower in azimuth, resulting in improved quality of guidance. An additional slotted cable, fed only with clearance signal, provides fly-up indication, both sides, over a wider azimuth sector.
