  • Patent number: 7363436
Abstract: A collision detection circuit for a multi-port memory system is presented. The collision detection circuit detects a collision condition if the addresses at two or more ports at the same time match and if one of the two or more ports is writing to the memory location associated with that address. A collision flag can then be set when the collision condition exists. In some embodiments, arbitration can occur when the collision flag is set.

  • Patent number: 6275950
Abstract: Disclosed is an adjustable PCI asychronous clock device in which by using the settings of firmware after the control line is monitored and selected by using a multiplexer via an I/O port, each of the PCI slots chooses one delay unit of the time delay means, the clock signal for each kind of PCI slot is delayed by the time delay means in order to regulate the clock signals of the chip set on the PCI add-on cards to be synchronous to the computer signals of the system chip set, so that the add-on cards match the PCI slots. The clock device comprises an I/O port, a plurality of multiplexers, and a time delay means.

  • Patent number: 6101116
Abstract: A six transistor content addressable memory (CAM) cell that prevents disturb of non-written rows during a write operation. The CAM cell comprises an SRAM cell having a pair of cross-coupled inverters and a pair of access transistors. The SRAM cell stores a data value at the output node of one of the inverters and an inverse data value at the output node of the other one of the inverters. An access transistor is connected between each output node and a match line. The match line is connected across the access transistors such that the match line is coupled to the output nodes of the inverters when the access transistors are turned on. Data lines are connected to the gates of the access transistors, and are coupled to receive a data value and an inverse data value. The 6-T CAM cell of this embodiment can be coupled to a plurality of identical 6-T CAM cells to form an array. Each row of CAM cells is coupled to the same match line.

  • Patent number: 6069448
Abstract: A LCD backlight converter includes a temperature detection circuit arranged between a cold cathode fluorescent lamp and a backlight feedback control circuit. The temperature detection circuit has a sensor connected in series between a pulse width modulator and the cold cathode fluorescent lamp for detecting the environmental temperature. A DC/DC power adapter provides power to the pulse width modulator for driving the cold cathode fluorescent lamp. The output of the temperature detection circuit is sent to the backlight feedback control circuit that generates controls signals for controlling the output frequency of the pulse width modulator as well as the output voltage of a DC/DC power adapter. Appropriate driving voltage and current are provided to the cold cathode fluorescent lamp by the pulse width modulator according to the environmental temperature so that the lamp is normally turned on and maintains normal brightness.

  • Patent number: 5962936
Abstract: Disclosed is a power supply device for LCD backlight converter in which a Zener diode is placed between an input of power adapter and an input of backlight converter, and a p-type MOSFET is placed between the power adapter and a cell to be used as a switch. When the power adapter provides power, the voltage level of the power is decreased by the Zener diode. When the cell provides power, the power provided to backlight converter is approximately equal to the power stored in the cell. The ratio of the input voltage of power adapter to the input voltage of the cell is decreased to extend supplying period of the cell.

  • Patent number: 5915590
Abstract: A device for separately releasing ball bodies and coins, including a motor, a base seat, a rotary disc, a driving lever, an outer cover and a shaft. The motor is disposed on rear side of the base seat with the shaft passed through the base seat and fitted into a shaft hole of the rotary disc. The driving lever is inclinedly locked on the base seat to abut against the rotary disc. An upper and a lower edges of the outer cover are formed with arch notches and ball releasing holes. The outer cover is locked on front side of the base seat. An opening of the outer cover is fitted with the collecting funnel. The ball releasing holes are disposed on lower edge of the outer cover and inclinedly arranged along the rotational direction of the motor. The ball bodies and coins going into the outer cover from the collecting funnel are rotarily driven by the rotary disc and separately released from the ball releasing holes and arch notches.

  • Patent number: 5905365
Abstract: A real-time clock (RTC) power supply device in which a power supply of a RTC is connected to a capacitor having a large capacity. The power supply of a computer system charges the capacitors by RC charging when the computer is booted. After the computer is turned off, the power stored in the capacitor is provided to the RTC, the time of power consumption by the cell is decreased, and the life of the cell is extended. The RTC power supply device comprises a first diode, a filter capacitor, a charging loop, and a battery branch.

  • Patent number: 5889513
Abstract: Disclosed is a display device for detecting working load of a CPU which includes a resistor having a low resistance connected in series between a power supply and the CPU. The voltage drop across the resistor is amplified by a differential amplifier. The amplified voltage is converted into digital signal by means of an A/D converter. A plurality of LEDs are driven by the digital signal to responsively show the working load state of the CPU.

  • Patent number: 5877628
Abstract: A warning device for detecting power of a real time clock battery of a computer including a comparator which is connected in parallel to the battery which provides power to a real time clock. The positive input terminal of the comparator is coupled to the positive pole of the battery. The negative input terminal is coupled to the system power supply which is connected to a Zener diode. The Zener diode is in avalanch region to generate a voltage drop which forms a predetermined reference voltage. When the power of the battery is less than the reference voltage, a signal is sent to a chip set in order to generate a warning signal informing that the power will be used up.

  • Patent number: 5860025
Abstract: A data transfer method with peripheral precharge wherein a starting portion of an output data block targeted for a peripheral is transferred to an output buffer for the peripheral using programmed I/O or slave cycles and wherein a virtual address of the output data block is translated into a physical address while the peripheral begins transferring the starting portion from the output buffer and over an output path. A direct memory access operation by the peripheral transfers a remainder portion of the output data block into the output buffer.

  • Patent number: 4868783
Abstract: A system for interconnecting an intelligent controller to a plurality of terminal devices includes a software module, a microprocessor and a device adapter having a plurality of output ports. The system operates under the control of said software module. When the system is powered up, a status for the output ports is assumed and tested under control of a configuration register. If the test is successful, the terminal port remains in that state; if unsuccessful, the state of the terminal port is reversed. The system permits an exchange of operating modes in the terminal devices associated with one port without adversely affecting operation of the remaining ports in the system.
