    Abstract: The disclosed oriented polyolefin film contains at least one voided layer. The voided layer contains an amorphous void-initiating polymer which, after orienting, is present as a separate particle inside the void. In the process for producing the polyolefin film, a molten blend comprising an olefin polymer and the amorphous polymer is extruded through a die at an extrusion temperature above the glass temperature or Vicat softening point of the amorphous polymer, the resulting film is drawn off on one or more rollers, and is then subjected to stretch orientation, followed optionally by thermofixing and a surface treatment.

The thickness of the top layer T is less than 0.4 .mu.m.

    Abstract: A transparent, coextruded mutilayered polyolefin film which can be sealed on both sides and having a base layer essentially comprised of a resin-modified propylene polymer and top layers essentially comprised of sealable olefin polymers.     Abstract: A process for the production of a biaxially oriented propylene polymer film contains, in its single ply (or, if it is a multi-ply film, in its base ply) a low molecular weight resin, and the film has improved stretchability and other desirable physical properties, even though the propylene polymer of the sole or base ply is preferably a homopolymer. The n-heptane-insoluble fraction of the film has a chain isotacticity index, measured by means of .sup.13 C-NMR spectroscopy, of at least 85 to 94%. The sole or base ply contains less than 10% by weight of resin. The film is stretched in such a way that the product of tensile strength in the longitudinal and transverse direction is greater than 50,000 (N/mm.sup.2).sup.2. The film is made by, among other steps, carrying out the orientation in the longitudinal and transverse directions such that the product of the longitudinal stretching ratio and the transverse stretching ratio is.gtoreq.60.

A propylene polymer or a propylene polymer mixture A is heated and melted in a second extruder and the melt of the propylene polymer or of the propylene polymer mixture A is fed to the two sides of the propylene polymer melt B so that both melts are extruded together and simultaneously through the flat sheet die.
