  • Patent number: 10521420
Abstract: According to embodiments of the present invention, machines, systems, computer-implemented methods and computer program products for retrieving information pertaining to an affinity of a user are provided. In some embodiments, a search query is received from a user. The search query is analyzed to determine a bias of the user. The social media activity of the user is evaluated to determine affinity indicators for the user. Prior searches and selection of search results by the user is evaluated to detect patterns of the user. An affinity of the user is determined based on the bias, affinity indicators, and patterns. Initial search results are generated that satisfy the search query, and the initial search results are filtered based on the determined affinity of the user to produce search results in accordance with the determined affinity of the user.

  • Publication number: 20190377627
Abstract: A method and system for performing a root cause analysis. A central processing unit (CPU) tracks a focal point of a user's eye gaze. The CPU correlates the focal point of the user's eye gaze to a viewing position of a display device displaying a file that includes event data being viewed by the user. The CPU identifies, as a function of the viewing position, events of interest in the event data and an amount of time that the event data is viewed by the user. The CPU outputs, as a function of a linear regression model, an interest score pertaining to one or more events of interest that were previously identified as a function of the user's eye gaze. The interest score is a probability of each identified event of interest being a root cause of a defect.

  • Publication number: 20190373069
Abstract: Embodiments for analyzing viewer engagement of online content by one or more processors are described. For each of a plurality of online channels having a piece of content posted thereon, viewer engagement associated with the piece of content and information associated with the posting of the piece of content on the respective online channel is received. The viewer engagement from each of the plurality of online channels is compared to the viewer engagement from the others of the plurality of the online channels. Based on the comparing of the viewer engagement and the information associated with the posting of the piece of content, a correlation between the viewer engagement from each of the plurality of online channels and the information associated with the posting of the piece of content on each of the plurality of online channels is determined. A signal representative of the determined correlation is generated.

  • Publication number: 20190340280
Abstract: A computing device determines that a user submits a query. The computing device tracks proximate web activities to the query by the user, determines a topic of the query, and determines a navigation path of the user from the proximate web activities. The computing device calculates a semantic score for the navigation path and associates the semantic score with the user, the topic, and the navigation path. The computing device calculates a threshold score for the topic using a sampling of semantic scores associated with matching topics in an expertise dataset and determines whether the semantic score meets the threshold score. When the semantic score does not meet the threshold score, the computing device performs one or more predetermined actions. An efficient manner of automatically discovering navigation paths used by experts in specific topics is provided, thus requiring less computing time and resources.

  • Publication number: 20190244092
Abstract: A processor may monitor frequency data related to a user metric of a user during a measurement window. The user metric may relate to the user's use of a computer implemented environment. The processor may simplify the frequency data related to the user metric, resulting in a set of simplified frequency data. The processor may input the set of simplified frequency data into a neural network. The neural network may determine a likelihood of a negative user experience for the user. The processor may alter a parameter of the first user environment based on the likelihood.

  • Publication number: 20190205469
Abstract: A cognitive media processing system for selective and adaptive modification of digital content with an audible element. In various examples, the cognitive media processing system obtains digital content and a desired reaction of a plurality of users for when the digital content is displayed on a plurality of user computing devices. The system obtains a plurality of user reaction profiles for the plurality of users. The system determines a first audio file of a plurality of audio files for a first user computing device based on the desired reaction and a first user reaction profile. The system then updates the digital content to include the first audio file to produce first updated digital content and sends the first updated digital content to the first user computing device.

  • Publication number: 20190190873
Abstract: A method and system for continued influenced threads, and more specifically, for augmenting a thread on a channel based on affinity. Other threads on different channels are monitored by analyzing content being discussed in the threads. An affinity with the other threads is identified, in order to establish an association between the threads, based on the analyzed content, wherein the association may be established by determining whether the analyzed content is shared between the threads. The thread is then modified based on the identified affinity, by copying at least a portion of the other threads.
