  • Publication number: 20070189366
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for receiving a signal transmitted through a multi-path in a wireless communication system, and more particularly an apparatus and method for removing a fake path detected by the ripple of a baseband pulse shaping filter to detect the position of an effective multi-path signal in a direct sequence Code Division Multiple Access system. The method for detecting a fake path in a user equipment in a mobile communication system includes detecting peak indexes and peak energies of peaks of signals received from node B, performing a fake path check with respect to the peaks based on the peak indexes and peak energies, and allocating fingers to peaks which have been determined not to be caused by a fake path as a result of the fake path check.

  • Publication number: 20060176871
Abstract: A method and apparatus provide a broadcast parameter message in a mobile communication system providing a broadcast service. If the provided broadcast service is time domain multiplex (TDM)-multiplexed, a message generator generates the broadcast parameter message by setting a field indicating the TDM multiplexing, setting a field indicating a position of the broadcast service in each sub-buffer, setting a field indicating whether one sub-buffer includes one service and a field indicating validity of the field, and setting a field exclusively indicating actual broadcast service data stored in one sub-buffer. A transmitter modulates the broadcast parameter message and provides the modulated broadcast parameter message to a terminal that receives the broadcast service.

  • Patent number: 7069033
Abstract: A device and method for controlling communication on a reverse link in a mobile communication system includes a measurer, a controller, and a reverse link transmitter according to an embodiment of the present invention. The measurer detects a power control bit from a channel signal received on a forward link and measures the reception strength of the channel signal using the detected power control bit. The controller compares the reception strength with a threshold and generates a signal for controlling transmission on a reverse link if the channel status of the forward link is determined to be bad during the comparison. The reverse link transmitter stops channel transmission on the reverse link in response to the transmission control signal.

  • Patent number: 7006482
Abstract: A method for transmitting control data on a downlink and/or uplink channel in a base station and/or mobile station in a mobile communication system. In one embodiment, the base station determines whether there is downlink channel data to transmit to a mobile station. If there is no data to be transmitted over the downlink channel for a predetermined time period, the base station drives a random gating position selector to determine a random gating slot position, gates on the control data at the determined slot position, and gates off the control data at other slot positions.

  • Patent number: 6810074
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting an on-off keying signal in a CDMA mobile station device is disclosed. A first calculator receives an on-off keying signal and a reference signal transmitted from a base station transmitter at a given transmission power level, despreads the received on-off keying signal, and generates a symbol power level of the despread on-off keying signal. A second calculator despreads the reference signal and generates a power level of the despread reference signal. A multiplier generates a variable threshold value by multiplying the power level of the despread reference signal by a gain determined by a ratio of the transmission power of the reference signal from the base station transmitter to the transmission power of the on-off keying signal from the base station transmitter. A comparator compares the variable threshold value with the symbol power level of the despread on-off keying signal.

  • Patent number: 6788732
Abstract: A device for rapidly performing initial acquisition and frame synchronization of a received signal for a receiver in a CDMA communication system. To this end, the base station multiplies a spreading sequence for a pilot channel by a synchronization pattern which maintains a pattern of inverting its sign in order to delineate the boundaries of the short sequence periods. A mobile station initially calculates the spreading sequence of the short period and the correlation value to perform initial acquisition, and despreads N-chip duration around a boundary of the one short spreading sequence period to detect the multiplied pattern, thereby acquiring synchronization of a data frame.
