  • Patent number: 6671266
Abstract: A power control device for a CDMA communication system using different kinds of spreading codes. In the power control device for a base station device, a first channel generator generates a first channel signal by spreading first input data with an orthogonal code and a second channel generator generates a second channel signal by spreading second input data with a quasi-orthogonal code. The second channel signal has a gain higher than that of the first channel signal. A first gain controller controls power of the first channel signal and a second gain controller controls power of the second channel signal. An adder adds the first channel signal to the second channel signal, and a spreader spreads a signal output from the adder with a pseudo-random noise (PN) code.

  • Patent number: 6539047
Abstract: A device for rapidly performing initial acquisition and frame synchronization of a received signal for a receiver in a CDMA communication system. To this end, the base station multiplies a spreading sequence for a pilot channel by a synchronization pattern which maintains a pattern of inverting its sign in order to delineate the boundaries of the short sequence periods. A mobile station initially calculates the spreading sequence of the short period and the correlation value to perform initial acquisition, and despreads N-chip duration around a boundary of the one short spreading sequence period to detect the multiplied pattern, thereby acquiring synchronization of a data frame.

  • Patent number: 6532252
Abstract: A non-orthogonal noise detecting device for a CDMA communication system. In the device, a despreader despreads multiple channel signals including a specific channel with an orthogonal code assigned to the specific channel repeating at least two same second symbols at a given first symbol duration, to generate despread repeated symbols. A difference signal generator receives the despread second symbols, and generates a difference signal between a presently received second symbol and a previously received second symbol. A noise detector converts the difference signal to an energy value to generate a non-orthogonal noise signal.
