  • Patent number: 6609593
Abstract: A protective boot having a bellows portion, a cylindrical portion, a guide-bore-side mounting portion, a thick-walled portion, a thin-walled portion, a pin-side mounting portion and an air passage groove. In an operation for mounting of the protective boot, the pin-side mounting portion is inclined radially inward through the thin-walled portion while being slidably moved along the sliding pin, to thereby effect an escape of air contained in an annular space between the sliding pin and the boot through the air passage groove. The thick-walled portion prevents the pin-side mounting portion from bending radially inward to an undesirable extent. Thus, the operation for mounting of the protective boot can be smoothly conducted.

  • Patent number: 6442744
Abstract: After auto-placement, nets are classified into groups each having logically equivalent signals, terminal placement range of each net is determined, and overlap regions of respective pairs of the ranges in the same group is obtained. In each net of each pair having this overlap region, such an input terminal in the overlap region is found out that an wiring length between an output terminal and the input terminal is maximum (S30 and S31), and a decrement &Dgr; in wiring length is calculated assuming that the two input terminals found out are exchanged (S32). If &Dgr;>0 (S33), then the two input terminals are exchanged with each other (S34). Such processing is repeated until &Dgr;≦0.

  • Publication number: 20020104719
Abstract: In a disk brake mounting apparatus wherein a knuckle 1 is provided with two disk brake mounting portions 2 and 3, and a disk brake 7 is fastened to the knuckle 1 with mounting bolts 5 and 6 passed through bolt-receiving holes provided in the mounting portions 2 and 3, respectively, the knuckle 1 is provided with a reinforcing connecting portion 15 formed by extending a body portion 10 of the knuckle 1. The reinforcing connecting portion 15 has its edge E1 extended radially outward in the radial direction of a rotor R with respect to a line L connecting the bolt-receiving holes of the two mounting portions 2 and 3. Thus, the torsional rigidity of the two mounting portions 2 and 3 is increased by the reinforcing connecting portion 15 to suppress vibrations in the opposite-phase mode in the rotor axial direction, thereby reducing low-frequency brake noise.

  • Patent number: 6247561
Abstract: In the disk brake, mounting portions of the caliper of a disk brake extending toward the entrance side and the exit side with respect to the rotation direction of the disk. Relative to the rotation direction, the length of the mounting portion on the entrance side is greater than that of the mounting portion on the exit side so that the cylinder portion is offset toward the exit side. Further, the mounting portion on the entrance side has thickenings formed to extend in a longitudinal direction thereof, so that with respect to the direction of the axis of the disk, the thickness of the mounting portion on the entrance side is greater than that of the mounting portion on the exit side. During braking, when a bending moment acts on the caliper, which can cause inclination of the caliper relative to the disk, flexural rigidity of the mounting portion on the entrance side is higher than that of the mounting portion on the exit side.

  • Patent number: 6223867
Abstract: A disk pass portion for receiving a part of a disk is provided between a cylinder portion and an outer claw portion of a caliper body at the inner peripheral side of a bridge portion of the caliper body. A pair of mounting portions extend arcuately from both sides of the bridge portion to lie outside the disk pass portion with respect to the radial direction of the disk. A pair of sliding pins are secured to the distal ends of the mounting portions through pin bolts and slidably fitted in pin-fitting holes provided in a mounting member supporting the caliper. When the brake is activated, friction pads are pressed against the disk by the caliper. At this time, deformation of the caliper by reaction forces from the disk is small around the area where proximal portions of the mounting portions are connected to the caliper body.

  • Patent number: 5092428
Abstract: A drum brake in which a parking brake is incorporated. A parking brake lever is mounted in the interior of a vehicle and is operable to pull a parking lever through a cable. The rotation of the parking lever causes a pair of brake shoes to be forced tightly against a brake drum. This results in the generation of a braking force. A stopper member is provided to limit the maximum angular position of the parking brake. This design prevents contact of the parking lever with a rotary shaft due to excessive pulling of the parking lever and thus damage of the rotary shaft as well as the parking lever.
