The reel hub is integrally formed with a lower flange and a radius of the reel hub on an upper flange side is greater than a radius on a lower flange side. By winding the recording tape T around the reel hub in such a manner that a side having a smaller radius of curvature of a tape edge is on the lower flange side of the reel hub, the displacement of the recording tape T in the axial direction of the reel hub during traveling is suppressed. As a result, recording and reproducing errors of servo signals and recording signals may be suppressed and reduction of so-called position error signals and off-track errors may be expected even in a case of high-density recording.
