    Abstract: There are disclosed a method and a machine for applying a strippable paint to a large-sized product finished with a sprayed coating, such as an automobile, to form a protective film on the surface of the coating. The product is kept in stock and will be shipped. Contaminations such as dust are washed away from the surface of the product Then, the strippable paint is applied, preliminarily dried, and non-preliminarily dried to form the protective film out of the strippable paint on the surface of the coating. This protective film is formed easily, appropriately, and certainly. The obtained protective film has a uniform and sufficient thickness. Even if the surface contains unapplied regions to which the paint should not be applied, the paint can be applied to the whole surface of the coating while avoiding the unapplied regions. The application can be performed easily and certainly without leaving unapplied portions around the unapplied regions.

    Abstract: A strippable paint is poured down onto coated surfaces 1, 2 and 3 of an automobile V within regions to be protected, from a plurality of nozzles 10 disposed in parallel in a widthwise direction of the automobile V above the coated surfaces 1, 2 and 3 of the automobile V, while controlling the number of nozzles which are used to discharge the strippable paint, in accordance with the extent of the regions to be protected. Thereafter, the strippable paint is spread over an entirety of the coated surfaces 1, 2 and 3 in the regions to be protected. Thus, the region covered by each of the nozzles can be relatively reduced to efficiently carry out the pouring-down of the strippable paint and to prevent dusts of a coating material from being scattered to a wide range. In addition, the need for a masking step and/or an inspecting/correcting step can be eliminated to reduce the operating steps and further to alleviate the operational load.

    Abstract: In peeling off, from a coating surface, temporarily protecting coating films formed by applying a protecting coating material onto the coating surface after completion of the coating, high-pressure water is jetted toward between the coating surface and end edges of the temporarily protecting coating films to peel off the end edges from the coating surface. Then, the high-pressure water is jetted sequentially to between the coating surface and peeled-off portions of the temporarily protecting coating films from the coating surface to peel off the entire temporarily protecting coating films from the coating surface. Thus, the temporarily protecting coating films can be easily peeled off without being influenced by the temperature of an environment, leading to a shortened peeling-off time.

    Abstract: The present invention provides mouse embryonic stem cells and homozygous mutant mice carrying disruptions in the neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) gene generated by homologous recombination which results in the insertion of a reporter gene or a drug-resistance gene into an exon of the neurotrophin-3 gene. The mice harboring such homozygous mutations have a reduced number of sensory neurons compared with the number of sensory neurons present in a mouse lacking such mutations. These mice may be used to screen for substances that enhance the transcriptional activity of the NT-3 gene.

The ceiling includes top feed openings connected with a feed duct extending from a conditioner for controlling a fresh air temperature. The side walls include side feed openings connected with a blast duct for supplying air from which paint mist has been removed at mist removing devices. Fresh air supplied through the top feed openings and the mistless air supplied through the side feed openings combine to produce an advantageous atmospheric condition for a paint spraying operation.
