  • Patent number: 5187862
Abstract: A connector has a terminal housing chamber. An elastic engaging arm for engaging the terminal extends from an inner wall. An opening with a guide groove for insertion of a disengaging tool opens to the front. The disengaging tool for disengaging a terminal from a connector is provided with a rod member for insertion into the opening. The rod member has a guide portion formed on a lateral side, extending along an axis of the stick body to guide the disengaging tool to a inner part of the connector when the rod member is inserted into the opening. A slope portion is formed on the tip of the stick body to contact the elastic engaging arm, pressing the elastic engaging arm, and bending the elastic engaging arm to disengage the elastic engaging arm from the terminal.

  • Patent number: 5167534
Abstract: A connector having a terminal lock plate inserted into an intermediate portion of a housing across terminal receiving holes, in which flexible lock arms for effecting primary locking of terminals have an increased retaining force. The connector includes a main housing (A), a sub-housing (B) inserted into a frame portion provided at the front portion of the main housing, and a terminal lock plate (C), inserted into openings formed respectively through upper and lower walls of the frame portion. The main housing includes a main terminal receiving block having terminal rear half receiving holes. The sub-housing has a terminal receiving sub-block having terminal front half receiving holes corresponding respectively to the terminal rear half receiving holes and a wall portion provided rearwardly of the terminal receiving sub-block so as to close one of the upper and lower openings.

  • Patent number: 5059142
Abstract: An electric connector with a terminal conductor detaining mechanism for restraining terminal conductors from slipping out of the electric connector. The electric connector comprises: a connector shell having a plurality of terminal chambers and provided with a pair of flexible, temporary locking strips and with a pair of main locking parts; and a terminal conductor detaining member provided with a plurality of terminal conductor detaining fingers and a pair of flexible locking arms. The terminal conductor detaining member is combined temporarily with the connector shell with the fexible locking arms thereof engaging the flexible locking strips of the connector shell, respectively, to keep the connector shell and the terminal conductor detaining member in a temporarily combined state.

  • Patent number: 5017163
Abstract: A terminal engaging apparatus of a connector comprises a connector housing having a chamber, formed in a rear portion thereof and surrounded by a peripheral wall, and a terminal engaging member having an E-shape configuration. The terminal engaging member is adapted to engage the chamber. The terminal engaging member comprises a base side member, opposite side members, and an intermediate member. The side members and intermediate member are integrally formed with the base side member. The base side member can be engaged with or disengaged from the connector housing. The opposite side members have engaging projections on their free ends. The intermediate member has an engaging projection at its leading end. The connector housing has engaging holes formed in its peripheral wall and adapted to be engaged with the projections on the side members and the intermediate member.
