  • Publication number: 20140317313
Abstract: In a network where network address translation (NAT) has been introduced, a problem occurs in which, when an IP host operating in a network is automatically categorized with automatic IP host discovery using an ARP cache, a plurality of IP hosts with the same IP address are recognized as one IP host by NAT. To resolve this problem, a network management server specifies network sub-topology on the basis of topology information, public addresses translated by NAT, and IP host corresponding relationships.

  • Patent number: 8832334
Abstract: According to an aspect of the invention, a computer comprises a memory; and a processor operable to manage a plurality of path groups, each of which includes a plurality of logical paths associated with a host computer, wherein each logical path of the plurality of logical paths connects the host computer to a logical volume of one or more logical volumes in one or more storage systems. The processor is operable to manage a priority of each path group of the plurality of path groups, and to use a logical path of a first path group instead of a logical path of a second path group for I/O (input/output) usage between the host computer and the one or more storage systems, representing a migration of I/O usage from the second path group to the first path group, based on at least the priorities of the first and second path groups.

  • Publication number: 20140195572
Abstract: Systems and methods are directed to a file storage system that manages configuration information for each cloud gateway's storage device. Systems and methods also manage a configuration parameter; and a file transfer slot number, which represents how many HTTP sessions the cloud gateway can process substantially simultaneously. Based on the configuration information, systems and methods may prioritize the multiple cloud gateways. Systems and methods calculate time lengths weighted by the priorities of the cloud gateways and multiplied by the file-transfer slot number for each cloud gateway in a time period, and then allocate time slots of the cloud gateways in the time period according to the above calculated time lengths. Systems and methods therefore allow for automatically aligning the traffic between cloud gateways and cloud storage according to the configuration of cloud gateways.

  • Patent number: 8751637
Abstract: A failure factor can be promptly carved up by effectively prioritizing the ports to which MEPs are assigned in a condition where the maximum number of MEPs is limited. A network monitoring server monitors a network having plural switch devices. The plural switch devices each have a communication confirmation function using transmission and reception of a monitoring frame between ports. An upper limit is set to the number of ports to which maintenance end points (MEPs) are assignable among the respective ports of the plural switch devices. The network monitoring server calculates, for each of the plural switch devices, a monitoring priority corresponding to the probability of failures of a device connected to a network path including the port or the port, and generates data for displaying the calculated monitoring priority of each port in association with each port.

  • Publication number: 20130291066
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments may involve a meta-data server that manages data-server access control list (DS ACL) information. Each entry of this DS ACL information may include an address of a data server, an identification or a range address of chunk data on the data server, a file path of the chunk data in the file tree provided by the meta-data server, and addresses of the permitted clients. The meta-data server may determine the addresses of the permitted clients for the chunk data by retrieving the original file path of chunk data from layout information of the meta-data server, and by retrieving the entry containing the directory path that partially matches with the original file path from an access control list of the meta-data server.

  • Patent number: 8533316
Abstract: Provided is a management computer which reduces the workload of an administrator of a network in setting node when the normal network is changed to a network with redundancy. The management computer manages a plurality of nodes that constitute a network accommodating VLANs. The plurality of nodes include a first node and a second node which make a redundancy pair and which divides the network into an active path and a standby path. The management computer stores port management information showing connection relations for respective nodes and identifiers of VLANs allocated to ports of the nodes, and creates the redundancy pair by updating the port management information of the first node such that a VLAN allocated to one of ports of a connected node that is connected to the first node is allocated to one of ports of the first node that is connected to the connected node.

  • Publication number: 20120311120
Abstract: In a multi-tenant information processing system, when initially constructing a tenant, design items depending on the tenant are specified for each device constituting the tenant, and design values of the design items are calculated without overlapping with those of other tenants. In a tenant design item management table, the design items set for the devices and information indicating whether the design items depend on the tenant, are stored for each device. In a design algorithm management table, calculation formulae for making the design values to be different for each tenant are stored corresponding to the design items. A tenant design unit refers to the tenant design item management table, specifies the design items depending on the tenant among those corresponding to the devices constituting the tenant, calculates the design values of the design items according to the calculation formula, when initially constructing the tenant.

  • Patent number: 8081640
Abstract: Provided is a network system, comprising: a plurality of network devices; a network constructed from the plurality of network devices; and a management server managing the network. The plurality of network devices include a first network device in which a filter assigned as a target of reconfiguration is set and a second network device coupled at a lower level of the first network device. The management server obtains topology of the network from the plurality of network devices; reconfigures, by referring to the obtained network topology, the filters of the first and second network device such that a range in which a packet can be forwarded through a reconfiguring filter set in the first network device is made equal to a range in which a packet can be forwarded through the filter set in the second network device; and sets the reconfigured filters into the network devices.

  • Patent number: 7835395
Abstract: A router with a server incorporated to provide services has a problem in that the server's resource cannot be allocated dynamically according to user requests. Service request packets received at a plurality of network interfaces are controlled such that the total bandwidth of the service request packets does not exceed a preset threshold. This makes it possible to process as many service requests from users as possible while limiting a server resource occupied by one service to a fixed amount. The network interfaces are notified of how much of a server resource is occupied by each service. In the case where one service consumes less than its allocated resource amount, the resultant surplus resource is made available to other services by easing the bandwidth control on other services. The above problem is thus solved.
