  • Patent number: 6098002
Abstract: With a speed change control wherein a speed change step is determined corresponding to the gradient of a road surface on which a vehicle is travelling, an upshift requirement is output at the time of a downslope, based on the gradient being gentle, and a reference acceleration and a reference engine load are set corresponding to vehicle speed, speed change step, and gradient. Then, only when an actual acceleration is greater than or equal to the reference acceleration, and an actual engine load is greater than or equal to the reference engine load, is upshift executed based on the upshift requirement, and for other than the above conditions, the upshift requirement is cancelled.

  • Patent number: 5974353
Abstract: A change amount .DELTA.TVO is computed as a deviation of a new value for the throttle opening representing engine load from a previous value. When the change amount .DELTA.TVO is greater than or equal to a positive judgment level TH and engine load is changing rapidly in an increasing direction, computation of running resistance using a detected value for the throttle opening is stopped. However, since when the throttle opening is stable or the throttle opening is changing reducingly, a necessary and sufficient computational accuracy can be maintained, computation of the running resistance is not stopped, and control is carried out based on the computational results.

  • Patent number: 5356858
Abstract: There are disclosed a receiving sheet for sublimation type heat transfer recording comprising a substrate, an intermediate layer formed on the substrate, and an ink-receiving layer formed on the intermediate layer, said intermediate layer comprising a cured resin, and said ink-receiving layer comprising a thermoplastic resin; and a process for producing said receiving sheet. When said receiving sheet is used, the heat shrinkage of the substrate and blocking can be prevented and an image having a high coloring density can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 5333943
Abstract: In an anti-lock braking apparatus, by detecting brake torque at a wheel and controlling the braking force of a wheel brake unit, a locked state of the wheel can be quickly detected to thus enable braking control with fast response characteristics. Also, based on direction of a variation of the brake torque on the wheel, the road friction coefficient is predicted to perform feedback control for the braking force and to adjust the brake torque to a target brake torque, whereby the braking performance can be optimized.

  • Patent number: 5292288
Abstract: A speed-changing hydraulic oil pressure control apparatus for controlling speed-changing hydraulic oil pressure according to a transition state of the speed change in an automatic transmission. The controllability is improved by detecting in advance the transfer from a torque phase to an inertia phase by detecting the output torque of the transmission and the input revolution number and output revolution number of a torque converter. The input torque of the transmission is estimated from the input revolution number and output revolution number of the torque converter, and the transition state of the speed change is detected from the input torque and output torque of the transmission. By comparing input torque and output torque of the transmission, the transfer from the torque phase to the inertia passe is detected in advance by utilizing the phenomenon of a large fall of the output torque of the transmission just before the transfer to the inertia phase from the torque phase.

  • Patent number: 5261297
Abstract: A control system for automatic transmission is provided in a motor vehicle having an internal combustion engine and an automatic transmission associated with the engine. The engine is operable on a fuel which is a mixture of gasoline and alcohol. The control system comprises an alcohol sensor for sensing the alcohol concentration in the fuel; a first device for deriving an engine load parameter which represents the load applied to the engine; a second device for correcting the engine load parameter with reference to the alcohol concentration sensed by the alcohol sensor; and a third device for controlling a line pressure of the transmission in accordance with the corrected engine load parameter.

  • Patent number: 5096767
Abstract: A support for an alkali-removable label in the form of a paper label having excellent water resistance and good bottle washing suitability to remove the label and also a label made from such a support. The support consists of a base paper having on a surface thereof an anchor layer produced by applying a radiation-curable composition comprising a radiation-curable resin and a radiation-curable carboxylic acid or a mixture of a monofunctional radiation-curable carboxylic acid and a polyfunctional radiation-curable carboxylic acid and curing the resultant coating by radiation. An intermediate layer comprising a water-soluble polymer or a water-dispersed polymer may be interposed between the base paper and the anchor layer.

  • Patent number: 4288393
Abstract: A direct contact condenser is arranged to establish sequential steam flows of downward, lateral, and tortuous but collectively upward directions in a housing. Cooling liquid fed to the condenser is introduced to first overflow means for temporarily accumulating cooling liquid and for allowing excess accumulated cooling liquid to overflow. Second overflow means is provided for temporarily accumulating the cooling liquid supplied from the first overflow means, for allowing the cooling liquid to fall in multiple streams into the collectively upward steam flow zone to cause direct heat exchange between the falling cooling liquid and the steam, and for causing excess cooling water accumulated by the second overflow means to overflow. The cooling liquid overflowing from the second overflow means is supplied to the downward stream flow to cause direct heat exchange between the cooling liquid and the steam when excess accumulated cooling liquid overflows from the second overflow means.
