  • Patent number: 7167263
Abstract: In an external print controller added to an MFP, bit map data obtained by analyzing and developing received PDL data is once compressed and, subsequently, transferred via a PCI bus. In the compressed bit map data, the data in a compressed state is stored onto an HD in the MFP as it is. The compressed bit map data is read out from the HD, decompressed, and sent to a printer unit.

  • Patent number: 6031632
Abstract: In an image retrieval apparatus, a desired image is recorded on a storage medium so as to correspond to an index image, and a recorded image is retrieved using an index image selected by the user. When recording an image on a storage medium or when retrieving an image from a storage medium, an index image can be assigned using a mark sheet on which a plurality of index images are printed. The image retrieval apparatus prints a mark sheet having a format corresponding to the number and the size of index images input by the user.

  • Patent number: 5896202
Abstract: An image processing apparatus is capable of rotating a read image into a desired direction according to the content of a mark sheet to be read prior to the originals. As a result, the operator need not pay particular attention to the direction in which he sets the originals on the reader unit. To this end, a detection unit detects an identifier on, or attached to, the original on the reader unit, a rotation unit rotates the read image, and an output unit for releasing the rotated image in accordance with the content of the mark sheet, for example by rotating the image in accordance with the receiving equipment.

  • Patent number: 5748345
Abstract: The controller unit 2a can perform in a color extraction mode and a marker processing mode. The color extraction mode is a mode in which an image within the range of a particular color is extracted and reproduced in that color. In the marker processing mode, an area surrounded by a color marker is detected and a prescribed processing is performed for an image in that area. A main-scan smoothing circuit 130 changes the number of pixels or the weighting coefficients used in smoothing in accordance with above described modes.

  • Patent number: 5729350
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an image processing apparatus which can easily and accurately change the setting contents of the apparatus. The image processing apparatus reads data from an information inputting sheet, and setting means discriminates the data read by the reading means. A predetermined setting item is set on the basis of the discriminated data, and an information inputting sheet on which the data set by the setting means is marked, is output.

  • Patent number: 5579419
Abstract: Image retrieving and storing processes by a mark sheet are facilitated. It is determined whether or not a mark sheet is directed in a correct direction by determining the positional relation between a direction discriminating mark and mark sheet identifying marks. If the mark sheet is directed in a wrong direction, the direction of the mark sheet is corrected. If it is determined in a primary retrieval operation that there are a plurality of candidate images, a mark sheet for a second retrieving operation is output.

  • Patent number: 5498377
Abstract: A method for producing a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer tube where the temperature of the mandrel and the extrusion pressure used for extruding a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer are determined before preparing the tube. The temperature of the mandrel and the extrusion pressure are set to overlap two predetermined temperature ranges. One temperature range permits hot drawing of the tube preform, and the second temperature range provides a tube preform free from the occurrence of bubbles on its surface. After the two temperature and extrusion pressure ranges are determined, a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer is extruded on the periphery of a heated mandrel under pressure using a mandrel temperature and extrusion pressure where the two predetermined ranges overlap. Thereafter, the mandrel is pulled out to provide a tube preform, and the tube preform is hot drawn to produce a tube having a desired outer diameter.

  • Patent number: 5495350
Abstract: An image reading apparatus which can eliminate a difference of the MTF occurring due to the matching of the positions of the pixels and can perform an accurate color discrimination and can obtain a high image quantity. An image on an original is read through color separation filters of a plurality of colors. By executing position correction arithmetic operations with respect to all of the color pixels which have been read, the pixel positions are corrected without a deviation, thereby setting the MTF of each color pixel to the same level. In the position correction arithmetic operations, by setting a plurality of virtual pixels with respect to each color every pixel on boundaries of different color pixels and by executing the interpolation arithmetic operations, not only the positions can be corrected but also the resolution can be improved.

  • Patent number: 5428458
Abstract: An image communicating apparatus comprises: a reader as an image input unit for inputting code data such as character code or the like; a converter for converting the input code data into image data; a transmitting circuit for transmitting the code data supplied from the reader or the image data converted by the converter; and a controller for judging the function of an apparatus of the communication partner side and a line state or a communicating condition, thereby selecting either one of a mode to transmit the code data and a mode to transmit the image data converted by the converter in accordance with the results of the judgment. When the code data is transmitted in an error retransmitting mode and error data remains due to a defective line state or communicating condition, the controller selects the mode to transmit the image data converted by the converter.
