  • Publication number: 20020162951
Abstract: A first optical wave guide 36 and a second optical wave guide 40 are connected to both sides of a planer optical waveguide 32, respectively. The other ends 36b, 40b of the first and second optical wave guides 36, 40 are extended over an upper surface 20 of an optical wiring circuit board 18. An electric wiring circuit 14 is connected to the other ends 36b, 40b of the first and second optical wave guides 36, 40, thereby constituting an optical wiring circuit 16. A plurality of optical wiring circuits 16 are superimposed on one another to thereby form an optical wiring circuits layered body 12. The electric wiring circuit 14 can be connected from one surface of the optical wiring circuit board 18, which makes it possible to facilitate the connection thereof.

  • Publication number: 20020093677
Abstract: A multifunction system has advanced functions and high speed capability and is excellent in expandability. The multifunction system includes a controller, an IIT, an IOT, and a light distributing device. For a print job, print data outputted from the controller is converted into optical signals, which enter a light distributing device and are transmitted to the IOT of the emission side. The IOT prints the received data onto a printer. For a copy job, copy data outputted from IIT is converted into optical signals, which enter the light distributing device, and are transmitted to the IOT of the emission side. For a scan job, scan data outputted from the scanner is converted into optical signals, which enter the light distributing device, and are transmitted to the controller of the emission side. The controller processes the received data.

  • Patent number: 6064464
Abstract: A copying machine such that both successive automatic sheet feeding and sheet through operation are possible. Two independent units of an original transporting unit (DF) (61) and automatic sheet feeding unit (AF) (600) respectively fulfill an automatic sheet feeding function for successively feeding a plurality of originals (by taking out the originals one by one) and an original transporting function for moving an original to an original supporting plate from a sheet feeding position. The control of the DF (61) is basically made by a controller in the main body of the copying machine and the control of automatic sheet feeding of the AF (600) is made by a controller in the AF (600). When the AF (600) performs automatic sheet feeding, the AF (600) controls the original transporting operation of the DF (61) in place of the main body of the copying machine.

  • Patent number: 5960379
Abstract: A shape measuring apparatus includes a partial surface measuring device for dividing a surface to be measured having a three-dimensional shape into a plurality of partial regions having mutually overlapped regions and measuring surface shapes of the plurality of partial regions. Movement mechanisms for respectively determining positional attitudes of the partial regions and the partial surface measuring device are also includes, along with a measurement controller for roughly joining measured data on the surface shapes of the partial regions to one another, based on the positional attitudes. Thereafter, fitting of the measured data on the surface shape of the other partial region to the measured data on the surface shape of one partial region in the overlapped regions is performed only in the direction of the substantial normal to the surface of each overlapped region so as to join adjacent the partial regions to one another.

  • Patent number: 5603003
Abstract: In a computer system having an interface with an I/O bus given disconnect/reconnect functions and a plurality of magnetic disk subsystems connected with the I/O bus, control divides a file at a disk access time with reference to disk management information, file management information and file descriptor translation information to read/write a plurality of such files asynchronously. Thus, high speed file access can be realized by only the plurality of magnetic disk subsystems without requiring any special control hardware. A corresponding relation between subfiles in a virtual directory and the application request file can be taken to construct the directory, thus making the divided storage transparent to the application.

  • Patent number: 5548724
Abstract: A typical structure of a file server system is a file server system having a plurality of file servers connected in parallel on a network and sharing files placed distributedly in the file servers among a plurality of client computers, and there are provided in a specific file server among the plurality of file servers, a load information monitoring device for measuring respective loads of the plurality of file servers and a file access request distributing device for referring to the loads measured by the load information monitoring device so as to select a file server having a light load from the plurality of file servers having light loads, and distributing a file access request transmitted from client computers to the selected file server.

  • Patent number: 5136709
Abstract: In an operating system generation method of a computer, a symbolic name is converted into an identification code, which is further converted into an address. This enables an inter-reference operation to be achieved between a kernel and input/output device drivers, thereby independently generating the input/output device drivers and the kernel. As a result, depending on the hardware configuration of the user system, input/output device drivers can be incorporated into the operating system.
