  • Patent number: 4908695
Abstract: A heat conducting member is placed in the space between a semiconductor chip which generates heat and a heat transfer block which is cooled by a coolant, and the heat conducting member conducts heat from the semiconductor chip to the heat transfer block. The heat conducting member has a slanted surface which is inclined with respect to a surface to be cooled of the corresponding semiconductor chip. Even when the semiconductor chip is displaced or inclined with respect to the heat transfer block, the whole of the cooling surface of the semiconductor chip can be kept in contact with the corresponding heat conducting member.

  • Patent number: 4700302
Abstract: An automatic guidance system for an unmanned vehicle causes the unmanned vehicle to move to a destination by a combination of traveling along a preset course, and turning and stopping at predetermined positions. A running control unit is provided to determine optimal control values in such a manner that a running state of the unmanned vehicle after a predetermined period of time is predicted by changing control values set in a drive unit in accordance with state values (e.g., position information and heading angle information) representing the current running state, and that the running state after the predetermined period of time matches with the directed operation of the unmanned vehicle, thereby accurately guiding the unmanned vehicle along the preset path.

  • Patent number: 4579366
Abstract: An active suspension apparatus detects a relative displacement (x) between an axle and a vehicle body, discriminates a road surface state in accordance with the relative displacement and a change rate (x) in unit time which is derived from the relative displacement (x), and optimally controls characteristics of damping forces of hydropneumatic suspensions in accordance with a discrimination result (i.e., a road surface state). This discrimination is performed in accordance with a sum (Ax+Bx) of a signal obtained by multiplying the relative displacement (x) with a predetermined coefficient and a signal obtained by multiplying the change rate (x) with another predetermined coefficient. These coefficients are obtained in accordance with riding comfort against vibrations. The characteristics of the damping force of the hydropneumatic suspension are controlled by controlling the opening of throttle valves disposed between hydropneumatic chambers and actuators.

  • Patent number: 4470063
Abstract: A semiconductor device includes a semiconductor substrate having electrodes brazed thereto. The electrode is made of a Cu-C composite material in which carbon fibers are embedded in copper matrix. The carbon fibers are so disposed as to be in a ring-like shape or a loop shape substantially in parallel with a surface of the semiconductor substrate onto which the electrode is brazed. The carbon fibers disposed in an outer peripheral portion have a higher longitudinal elastic modulus than that of the carbon fibers positioned at a central portion of the electrode. The electrode thus has a thermal expansion coefficient approximating to that of the semiconductor substrate. Content of copper can be increased at the central portion of the electrode for attaining a high thermal conductivity.

  • Patent number: 4278224
Abstract: The wedging action fixture to which the invention relates has a wedging action means, a pair of pressing members, wedging action releasing means and other members for limiting the relative movement and transmitting forces between these parts. This fixture can be secured to any desired portion of an elongated supporting member by a wedging action performed by the wedging action means. The external force to be borne is applied to the wedging action means so as to obtain a wedging force which is transmitted to a pair of pressing members. The pressing members acts on both surface of the elongated supporting member so as to cramp the latter therebetween or, alternatively, on both opposing walls of a channeled supporting member to urge the walls away from each other, thereby to bear the external force at any desired position on the elongated supporting member.

  • Patent number: 4231814
Abstract: A method of producing a vacuum circuit breaker, the breaker contacts of which are made of a cast alloy which contains copper or a copper alloy as its main component and, as the sub-component, a metal having a lower melting point and a higher vapor pressure than the main component and having a solubility limit to the main component at room temperature, e.g. lead, bismuth or an alloy of lead and bismuth, the sub-component being contained in excess of said solubility limit. The cast alloy is heated at a temperature not lower than 800.degree. C. but not so high as to cause a melting of the cast alloy, in a vacuum atmosphere which ranges in a pressure between 10.sup.-4 and 10.sup.-6 Torr, before the alloy is mounted as the breaker contacts in the vacuum circuit breaker. A plastic working may be imparted to the cast alloy before the mounting, by, for example, forging.
