  • Patent number: 5465191
Abstract: A container having a body and a cover, in which the cover can be conveniently opened using only one hand from a latched state of the body and the cover. Engaging members between cover and body are movable under force, when the cover is closed, between an engaging position where the cover is engaged with said body and a releasing position where the cover is not engaged with the body. However, the engaging member cannot be returned to the engaging position while the cover is closed. Lock means prevent the engaging member from moving from the releasing position to the engaging position in spite of application of force. Once the cover is opened the engaging member moves from said releasing position to said engaging position.

  • Patent number: 5446618
Abstract: A computer with a removable cartridge type hard disk drive (14) or other removable device includes a three position slider 26. At one end of the slider is a tab (20A) having a hole (20B) for receiving a lock. When the slider is in a first position, the tab is retracted within the computer housing (2) and the disk drive can be easily removed from the computer. When the slider is in a second position, the tab protrudes from the housing and the disk drive cannot be removed from the computer. In the second position and with the tab protruding from the housing, a padlock can be inserted into the hole in the tab to secure the slider in the second position, thereby locking the disk drive in the computer. When the slider is in the third position, the tab does not protrude from the housing, but the disk drive cannot be removed from the computer.

  • Patent number: 5164866
Abstract: A timing control method and system for performing recording/reproducing operation using timing signals and servo signals prerecorded on a magnetic disk and a timing signal recording system for recording the timing signals on the magnetic disk. Timing signals are identified by a detection circuit in response to a pulse generated by a pulse generator responsive to revolution speed of the magnetic disk and the servo signals are extracted based on the timing signal as a reference, then the various signals for read/write operation, e.g. sector mark signal are generated based on the extracted servo signal. The timing signals are recorded with a single feed quantity smaller than a track width by means of a timing signal recording system having a incrementally movable mechanism for a head and a recording circuit for recording timing signals at respective stop positions.

  • Patent number: 5156754
Abstract: In order to increase the performance of a mold of thermosetting resin, metal powder is dispersed in the resin mold which has a dense and voidless structure. The mold may be mounted on a back-up member of metal. In this case, the bonding between the mold and the back-up member is much assured when metal balls are contained in the mold near the back-up member. Furthermore, the mold may be electrically metal-plated. In this case, the mold is coated with a conductive plastic paint before being subjected to the electric metal plating in an electrolytic solution.

  • Patent number: 4912572
Abstract: A magnetic disk drive provided with a computational control circuit for changing the reference level of the A/D converter so that the outputs of A/D conversion are kept constant at all times, which are obtained from integrated output peak values of the sector servo signals on a track having been read in reading a magnetic disk on which sector servo signals are recorded in advance. For the reference level of the A/D converter, values such that the outputs of the A/D conversion on the innermost and outermost tracks become constant are selected in advance, respectively. Thus, that reference level is obtained on the basis of the above values.

  • Patent number: 4623943
Abstract: In a head position control apparatus, a magnetic pole disc mounted on a DC motor has a plurality of opposite magnetic poles arranged on its circumference in a predetermined relationship with tracks on a floppy disk. A sensor located close to the pole disc generates a pulse signal having pulses corresponding to the tracks and a voltage representing the actual speed of the motor. The pulses are counted in an incremental or a decremental mode. The difference between a track position indicating command signal from a keyboard and the pulse count is detected for deriving a direction signal which indicates the direction of the head and determines the count mode, a speed reference variable according to a predetermined transfer function and a switching signal when the difference reduces below a certain limit. A speed control signal is generated representing the difference between the speed reference and the actual speed of the motor.

  • Patent number: 4269572
Abstract: An electromagnetic plunger pump of the reciprocating type including a vent valve means which allows only air bubbles in the pump to pass therethrough. This vent valve means is provided in a pressure adjusting plunger fitted in a pressure adjusting cylinder for reciprocating motion. The vent valve means comprises a vent valve rod which is fitted in a through-hole of the pressure adjusting plunger so as to form a passage about the vent valve rod, and a vent valve body which is normally energized by a spring in the direction away from a vent valve seat at a forward end of the pressure adjusting plunger to provide a clearance between the vent valve body and the vent valve seat. This clearance is such that it allows the air bubbles to pass therethrough, while it does not allow a liquid under pressure having a viscosity to pass therethrough with the result that the vent valve means is closed by such liquid under pressure.
