  • Publication number: 20080284452
Abstract: Contact holes (openings) (17) are created in the upper electrode (14) and the dielectric film (15) of a polysilicon-insulator-polysilicon (PIP) capacitive element to form a plurality of evaluation patterns wherein the lower electrode (13) and upper layer wiring lines (20) for measurement are electrically connected through contacts (16). At least four evaluation patterns are created by a combination of two or more values of a distance L with different values of a width W. Since it can be assumed that a difference in the resistance value between the respective evaluation patterns is only due to the effect of a change in a rectangular region (W*L) between the contact holes (openings) (17), it is possible to easily calculate the sheet resistance of the high-resistance portion from a change in the resistance value of each of the measurement patterns.

  • Patent number: 6311094
Abstract: A production plan is made for a production line for producing finished products from a raw material. Based on the stock number of works in respective process steps at a planning time, the number of works processed at the respective process steps up to the planning time is calculated as the current cumulated processed works of the respective process steps. The target of the stock number of works in the respective process steps at a planned time following a passage of a plan period is calculated based on a target production representing the number of finished products outputted up to the planned time and an average cycle time of production from the raw material to finished products. The target cumulated processed works of the respective process steps at the planned time is calculated based on the target of the stock number of works in the respective process steps.

  • Patent number: 6262402
Abstract: According to the invention, the rear end of a preceding metal piece and a front end of a succeeding metal piece are heated, pressed and joined prior to the finishing hot rolling. An alternating magnetic field running through the metal pieces in the thickness direction thereof is generated in an end region on opposed faces of the respective metal pieces to perform heating. Another alternating magnetic field whose direction is reverse with respect to that of the former alternating magnetic field is partially generated in the end region on the opposed faces of the metal pieces and in either a region where the metal pieces exist or a region outside width ends of the metal pieces. This assures a uniform heating of the end region on the opposed faces of the metal pieces over their full width to reliably join the both metal pieces to each other.

  • Patent number: 6218649
Abstract: Method and apparatus for joining metal pieces using induction heating. Metal pieces to be joined are placed end-to-end with a gap between them and induction heated in the thickness portion. To maximize speed and even heating edge-to-edge of the ends, members of a magnetic substance are provided in a gap between the inductor and the piece to be heated, thereby enhancing local heating effect by increasing magnetic flux density. Once heated, the ends are pressed together end-to-end for joining.

  • Patent number: 6184508
Abstract: An apparatus for joining metal pieces using induction heating. Preceding and succeeding metal pieces are followed by a carriage which carries an inductor. The inductor has the ability to move in the longitudinal direction of the metal pieces relative to the carriage to allow the inductor to move more or less upon the preceding or succeeding metal pieces to increase or decrease the induction heating effect, thereby taking into account any thickness variation of the metal pieces and yet still heating them evenly with regard to each other, prior to their being pressed against each other for joining before hot finishing rolling.

  • Patent number: 6157770
Abstract: Moving picture data is supplied from a server to a system processing portion through a communication processing portion, a bus, and a line processing portion. Alternatively, the moving picture data may be sent directly to the line processing portion. Data received from the line processing portion is analyzed by a system processing portion. A system analyzing portion separates the data into header information and reproduced audio/video (A/V) data. The A/V data is temporarily stored in a storing unit. The A/V data is sent to a reproduction processing portion. The reproduction processing portion processes the A/V data and sends the resultant data to an external outputting unit through an output processing portion. The external outputting unit outputs the data as sound and picture.

  • Patent number: 5971584
Abstract: A production control is applied to control a production machine for producing a product from a material in a process divided into a plurality of steps. The execution numbers are counted on a per-step basis. A priority order is allocated on the basis of the counted execution numbers. The information relating to the priority order is output to the production machine. The production machine can select the next step in accordance with the input priority order. The execution numbers can be properly controlled by such control method on the per-step basis.

  • Patent number: 5969763
Abstract: A motion picture data decoding system extracts motion picture data from transmitted MPEG data and decodes the extracted motion picture data. A multi-media communication terminal includes a data buffer portion storing the extracted motion picture data per predetermined data unit, the data buffer portion having a capacity of storing a plurality sets of the data unit, motion picture data being accumulated in the data buffer per data unit, and motion picture data being taken from the data buffer portion per data unit and decoded by said decoding portion. In concrete, when the amount of the motion picture data transmitted per data unit and sequentially accumulated in the data buffer exceeds the threshold value and amount of the motion picture data accumulated in the data buffer and being sequentially decoded per data unit, is reduced across the threshold value, to issue a demand for transmission of next data unit for monitoring the data buffer portions and making the decoding process efficient.
