  • Publication number: 20090110984
Abstract: A limit switch for detecting opening/closing of a hood is connected to a controller. A power supply relay is also connected to the controller. A switching contact of the relay is located on power supply line for supplying power supply from a fuel cell. When the hood is closed, the limit switch is on and the controller maintains the switching contact in a closed state so that power supply from the fuel cell to various power-consuming components is allowed. On the other hand, when the hood is opened, the limit switch is turned off. In response to this, the controller opens the switching contact so that the power supply from the fuel cell to the various power-consuming components is shut off.

  • Publication number: 20090096464
Abstract: An electrical leakage determining circuit determines the occurrence of electrical leakage at a negative electrode of a fuel cell when a potential difference V between a positive electrode of the fuel cell and ground, which is detected by a potential difference detecting circuit, exceeds a preset potential difference threshold Vth, and determines the occurrence of electrical leakage at the positive electrode of the fuel cell when an insulation resistance R between the positive electrode of the fuel cell and ground, which is detected by a resistance detection circuit, falls below a resistance threshold Rth preset to be equal to or smaller than a resistance value Rw of a coolant. Upon determination of the occurrence of electrical leakage, the electrical leakage determining circuit opens a switching contact provided on a power supply line to interrupt power supply from the fuel cell to various power consumption components.

  • Publication number: 20090053587
Abstract: An abnormality detecting device for a fuel cell powered industrial vehicle confirms whether a radiator fan is at rest or not (S1), and when the fan is at rest, a first setting concentration N1 is selected and set as an abnormality detection threshold value TH (S2). Conversely, when the fan is driven, a second setting concentration N2 for detecting a lower concentration is selected and set as the abnormality detection threshold value TH (S3). A hydrogen concentration Nm detected by a hydrogen concentration sensor is input (S4), and the input hydrogen concentration Nm is compared with the abnormality detection threshold value TH (S5). If the detected hydrogen concentration Nm is lower than or equal to the abnormality detection threshold value TH, it is determined as normal (S6), and if the detected hydrogen concentration Nm exceeds the abnormality detection threshold value TH, it is determined as abnormal (S7).

  • Patent number: 7454279
Abstract: System for detecting stability/instability of behavior of a motor vehicle upon occurrence of tire slip or lock. State of the motor vehicle is determined on the basis of an alignment torque (Ta) applied from a road and a side slip angle (?). By taking advantage of such torque/slip-angle characteristic that although the alignment torque is proportional to a side slip angle when the latter is small, the alignment torque becomes smaller as the side slip angle increases, a normal value is determined from a straight line slope and the side slip angle in a region where the latter is small. Unstable behavior of the motor vehicle is determined when deviation of actual measured value from the normal value increases. Further, unstable state is determined when the slope of the alignment torque for the slip angle departs significantly from that of approximate straight line slope.
