  • Publication number: 20110280308
Abstract: There is provided a moving image encoding apparatus for performing motion compensation prediction encoding. The apparatus comprises, among other things: a calculation unit configured to calculate, for each of a plurality of motion vectors, a difference between an encoding target block image and a reference block image which exists at a position moved based on the motion vector from a position in a reference image corresponding to the predetermined position; and a selection unit configured to select one motion vector from the plurality of motion vectors such that reducing a code amount when the selected motion vector is encoded and reducing the difference corresponding to the selected motion vector are achieved in predetermined balance. The predetermined balance gives priority to reducing the difference over reducing the code amount as a minimum value of a plurality of differences calculated by the calculation unit becomes smaller.

  • Patent number: 7167237
Abstract: A fault searching system searches for a fault in an optical line connected with an optical fiber carrying out data transmission between a transmission apparatus and a user optical terminal. A connecting unit detaches a terminal portion of the optical line at the user optical terminal, and connects an OTDR to the terminal portion of the optical line. At least one of a test light with a wavelength different from a wavelength of light used for data transmission in the optical line, and a test light whose peak level is less than or equal to a predetermined level, is caused to be incident upon the terminal portion of the optical line. A searching unit searches for a fault in the optical line from the user optical terminal side by detecting backward scattering light or return light from the optical line produced by the test light caused by the OTDR.

  • Patent number: 7088478
Abstract: Linear chromaticity conversion is used to perform color reproduction of a liquid crystal display (LCD) compatible with a cathode ray tube (CRT). An inputted signal is subjected to processing similar to processing used in the CRT display. A light source chromaticity conversion processing portion carries out a ? correction to the signal in a ? operation portion by using ?1=?crt of the same nonlinear characteristics as the CRT, and performs an operation of a chromaticity conversion matrix in a matrix operation portion. An LCD inverse ? correction portion uses ?2 establishing ?_lcd=?lcd/?2=1 to perform an inverse ? correction to the inputted signal. An LCD ? characteristic operation portion performs a ? correction using ? characteristics of the LCD to the signal inputted from the LCD inverse ? correction portion, outputs a picture signal, and causes an image to be displayed on the LCD.

  • Patent number: 7079933
Abstract: This automatic clutch control device selects a normal mode when a road friction coefficient is not less than 0.3 at a disconnecting operation starting point (time t1), selects a little low-speed mode when it is not less than 0.1 but less than 0.3 and selects a low-speed mode when it is less than 0.1. Further, when a vehicle stabilizing control such as a traction control or the like is not executed at the time t1, this device selects the normal mode, while when a vehicle stabilizing control is executed at the time t1, it selects the low-speed mode. Moreover, this device selects a high-speed mode when the vehicle is in a sports running mode at the time t1, while selects the normal mode when the vehicle is not in the sports running mode. A connecting operation of a clutch is performed with a speed corresponding to the selected mode in an automatic clutch connecting/disconnecting control by a clutch connecting/disconnecting actuator upon executing a gear-shift control.
