  • Patent number: 5450376
Abstract: An optical information recording/reproducing apparatus realizes a direct verifying operation with a simple structure. A light beam emitted from a light source is converged on a track provided on an optical recording medium which is adapted to be moved relatively to the light beam. A super-resolution optical filter is provided in an optical path between the light source and the recording medium. The optical filter functions to produce a first light spot and a second light spot to be irradiated on the track such that the light intensity of the second light spot is lower than that of the first light spot and a recording signal is recorded using the first light spot. The signal recorded on the recording medium using the first light spot is reproduced by use of the reflected light caused upon the irradiation of the second light spot on the recording medium.

  • Patent number: 5380490
Abstract: An apparatus is so constructed as to measure a specific substance in a test specimen by the degree of the aggregation of carrier particles in a reaction solution in which the test specimen is mixed with the carrier particles which carry a substance specifically binding to the specific substance. The apparatus includes a substrate having comb-shaped electrodes mounting the reaction solution and amplifier and alternating oscillator for displaying a variable voltage to the comb-shaped electrodes. The test specimen measuring apparatus having the structure accelerates the aggregation of the reaction solution by applying an alternating voltate to the comb-shaped electrodes in a state that the reaction solution is being mounted on the substrate, and detects the spatial spectrum of the comb-shaped electrodes on which the reaction solution is mounted, thus performing the qualitative or quantitative detection of the presence of the substance in the test specimen.

  • Patent number: 5365535
Abstract: A semiconductor laser device includes a semiconductor laser, a signal generating circuit, a modulation circuit and a drive circuit. The semiconductor laser has an active layer including at least two light-emitting layers having different energy levels. A high-frequency signal having a predetermined frequency is generated by the signal generating circuit. The signal width of the high-frequency signal is modulated by the modulation circuit in accordance with an information signal. The semiconductor laser is driven by the drive circuit in accordance with the signal modulated by the modulation circuit.

  • Patent number: 5297128
Abstract: An optical information recording/reproducing apparatus provided with a device for irradiating an information track of an optical information recording medium with a preheating light beam. Simultaneously, a recording/reproducing light beam irradiates a light spot of the preheating light beam on the recording medium. The light intensity of the preheating light beam is varied in accordance with the environmental temperature of the apparatus detected by a detector. By such a construction, the recording/reproducing condition of information is kept constant, irrespective of the environmental temperature.

  • Patent number: 5233598
Abstract: In an information recording medium, there are provided with plural information track groups each provided with plural information tracks, and identification areas respectively formed in the plural information track groups and having codes respectively indicating the information track groups. An information reproducing process, for reproducing the information from the information reproducing medium, comprises the steps of detecting a code of the identification area indicating a desired information track group, and reproducing the information stored in the information track group, in response to the result of the detecting step.
