    Abstract: A semiconductor memory device includes precharging circuit for supplying a current to selected digit line pair and equalizing circuit for equalizing potential of complementary digit lines forming all of digit line pairs. Only digit line pair selected by a column address input signal is precharged by the precharging circuit. The potentials of the complementary digit lines forming all digit line pairs is equalized respectively by the equalizing circuit after precharging operation.
