  • Publication number: 20030117710
Abstract: The present invention provides a backlight device that has a heat-generating light source, such as a fluorescent tube. This backlight device includes; fluorescent tubes that emit light when power is supplied to the fluorescent tube electrodes; and a light guide plate that guides the light emitted from the fluorescent tubes to a liquid crystal panel. In this backlight device, heat release members for releasing the heat from the fluorescent tube electrodes are provided at the corners of the light guide plate that face the fluorescent tube electrodes of the fluorescent tubes. • Publication number: 20020180558
Abstract: A filter assembly includes a transmission filter, a reception filter, a change-over switch, and phase circuits. The transmission filter has first and second ends electrically connected to a first antenna terminal and a transmission terminal, respectively. The reception filter has a first end electrically connected to a second antenna terminal via the change-over switch, and a second end electrically connected to a reception terminal. A main antenna is connected to the first antenna terminal, and a diversity antenna is connected to the second antenna terminal. The change-over switch performs switching control to connect the reception filter to one of the first and second antenna terminals. Thus, the filters utilize a fixed number of resonators regardless of switching control of the change-over switch, thereby achieving optimum filter characteristics.

  • Patent number: 6476687
Abstract: A dielectric filter includes a dielectric block and an outer conductor on outer surfaces of the dielectric block. The dielectric block has holes having inner conductors, with gaps provided by sections devoid of inner conductor. A section devoid of outer conductor is formed on an edge portion around a stray surface of the dielectric block. Accordingly, a TE-mode resonance having one quarter the wavelength in the axial length direction of the dielectric block is generated. The TE-mode resonance and a TEM-mode resonance are combined to form an attenuation pole.

In this filter, for example, a single-stage trap filter is electrically connected to a three-stage band pass filter via a coupling capacitor. The trap filter has a serial resonance section composed of a resonator and a resonance capacitor. The serial resonance section is connected in parallel to a capacitive reactance element (capacitor), and a serial circuit composed of an inductive reactance element (inductor) and a PIN diode as a switching element. The capacitive reactance element and the inductive reactance element both serve to make an admittance of the trap circuit substantially zero.

  • Patent number: 6181317
Abstract: A display has a display panel of a first aspect ratio and is able to display on the display panel an image of a second aspect ratio whose width element is larger than that of the first aspect ratio. The display has a gate driver, a data driver, and a timing controller. The gate driver sequentially selects gate lines of the display panel. The data driver stores data for one gate line and supplies the data to one of the gate lines selected by the gate driver. The timing controller supplies control signals to the gate and data drivers so that predetermined data is displayed in top and bottom non-image areas of the display panel during a vertical blanking period. The display is capable of displaying images of different sizes.
