Abstract: An ink jet printer head and a piezoelectric actuator for the head, in which energy conversion efficiency from an electric energy to a mechanical vibration energy is high, and its mechanical displacement of a vibration transferring plate is large, are provided. An ink jet printer head having a piezoelectric actuator provides an upper electrode, a piezoelectric plate, a lower electrode, a vibration transferring plate, and a pressure chamber, whose shape is a rectangle and its length ratio of the short side to the long side is 0.8 or more and 1.0 or less. And the piezoelectric plate having the lower electrode is bonded to the vibration transferring plate at a position within the inside wall of the pressure chamber and the center positions of the piezoelectric plate and the pressure chamber are set to be almost equal. Therefore, the energy conversion efficiency of the piezoelectric plate can be utilized in its maximum, and the piezoelectric actuator whose mechanical displacement is large can be realized.

  • Patent number: 6703777
Abstract: In an adjusting method for a cathode position of an electron gun, an apex point of a dome-shaped cathode is detected and then a positional adjustment is executed by moving a first grid in a X-Y direction so that a center of a grid aperture is coincided with the position of the apex point, at first. Next, a sleeve ring and a collar portion of a sleeve holder are welded together by a laser beam. The a dgk-vale adjustment is done so as for a gap between first grid and apex point of the cathode to be a predetermined value and welded by irradiating the laser beam to a superposed position of the cathode structure and the sleeve. According to the present invention, these positioning adjustment and the dgk-value adjustment are able to be executed independently.

  • Patent number: 6488355
Abstract: In an ink jet head, in order to make the occupying area of a chamber associated to each nozzle as small as possible, while maintaining a discharge ink drop volume, and on the other hand, to locate a number of nozzles with a high density, the plan view shape of a pressure plate provided to each chamber is so configured to fulfill the relation of 1:≦A≦2, where “A” is the ratio of an circumscribed circle diameter of the plan view shape of the pressure plate to an inscribed circle diameter of the plan view shape of the pressure plate. For example, the pressure plate is formed to have the plan view shape of a substantial square or a substantial rhombus. The chambers having such a feature are located in the form of a matrix.
