  • Publication number: 20050026760
Abstract: Here is disclosed a method and apparatus for folding a continuously fed in two. The web is folded along guide means defining a folding guide line with a fold angle gradually reduced. In the course of gradually reducing the fold angle, a plurality of guide rolls through are pressed against transversely opposite side edge portions of the web. Immediately before the stage on which the web is completely folded in two, there are provided detector means adapted to detect actual positions of the respective side edge portions and swing rolls located upstream of these detector means adapted to change a crossing angle of the web with respect to a machine direction. Actuators interposed between the detector means and the swing guide rolls cause the swing guide rolls to swing and thereby to move the side edge portions toward predetermined positions.

  • Publication number: 20040238314
Abstract: A tandem frictional engagement device includes a first frictional engagement unit and a second frictional engagement unit. The first frictional engagement unit couples a first coupling member to a first coupled member through a procedure wherein a friction disc that is relatively non-rotatably spline-fitted to the first coupling member is pressed by a first piston in a first direction and wherein the friction disc and another friction disc on the side of the first coupled member are clamped between the first piston and a first stopper member. The second frictional engagement unit couples a second coupling member to a second coupled member through a procedure wherein a friction disc that is relatively non-rotatably spline-fitted to the second coupling member is pressed by a second piston in a direction opposite to the first direction and wherein the friction disc and another friction disc on the side of the second coupled member are clamped between the second piston and a second stopper member.

  • Publication number: 20040231457
Abstract: An automatic transmission includes a parallel-axis gear pair including a first gear having a shaft portion and a gear portion, and a second gear which meshes with the first gear; a case that has a supporting wall which is adjacent to the gear portion of the first gear and rotatably supports the shaft portion of the first gear; and a frictional engagement apparatus that includes friction members, a piston that presses on, so as to apply, the friction members, and a hydraulic chamber that holds hydraulic fluid which moves the piston in the direction of the friction members. As a result, both the shaft to shaft dimension as well as the axial dimension of the automatic transmission can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20040159521
Abstract: A lubricating structure of a friction engaging device including a rotating drum which is a cylindrical rotating body, around a perimeter of which there is provided a friction member, and which is engaged with/disengaged from a predetermined coupling member via the friction member; and a ring gear which is spline-coupled to an inner surface of the rotating drum and which is positioned while contacting an inward flange that is integrally provided with the rotating drum. In the lubricating structure, a centrifugal oil passage which is formed between the ring gear and the inward flange, and which introduces lubricating oil inside the rotating drum to a spline-coupled portion of the ring gear and the rotating drum by centrifugal force, and a plurality of through holes which are formed in the rotating drum and through which the lubricating oil, that has flowed into the spline-coupled portion, flows to an outside of the rotating drum where the friction member is provided are formed.

  • Publication number: 20040023747
Abstract: An automatic transmission having seven gear speeds for forward driving is provided, in which a planetary gear P1 of a first planetary gear set 12 and an outer planetary gear P2out of a second planetary gear set 14 are integrally coupled, a first rotational element M1 is formed by a sun gear S1, a second rotational element M2 is formed by carriers CA1, CA2 coupled with each other, a third rotational element M3 is formed by a ring gear R2, a fourth rotational element is formed by a ring gear R1, and a fifth rotational element M5 is formed by a sun gear S2. The rotational elements M5, M3, M2 are connectable to an input shaft 16 via clutches C1, C2, C3, respectively, and the rotational elements M3, M2, M1 are connectable to a case 20 via brakes B1, B2, B3, respectively. The rotational element M4 is integrally coupled with an output gear 18.

  • Patent number: 6389356
Abstract: Records related to objects are stored in a map database (10) in ascending order of occurrences of the objects or in descending order of extinction of the objects. When objects available on a specified date are extracted, the date of the occurrences or extinction of the objects in the records are ascertained sequentially from the top. This ascertaining process is cancelled regarding the objects appearing after the specified date, or regarding the objects disappearing before the specified date. Objects seasonally available or available depending on the weather and temporary traffic regulations to be carried out irregularly are stored in the map database (10) by an operator or through a communication from a traffic control center. Those objects and regulations are not indicated on a calendar due to their irregularity. The objects agreeing with a condition can be extracted, or roads available are selected to form a passable route.

  • Patent number: 5774538
Abstract: An exchange service starting system subject to a minimum of processing burdens without limiting the scope of exchange services available to subscribers. A number dialed by a subscriber placing a call is analyzed by a number analyzing unit. The result of analysis is stored into a number analysis result memory. Upon receipt of a service start request signal from the subscriber during the call, a signal analyzing unit references the content of the memory. If the memory is found to contain a predetermined specific number, the signal analyzing unit starts a signal output unit to output the service start request signal to a specific exchange. If the memory content is other than the specific number, the signal analyzing unit starts a service request processing unit so that the exchange in question will offer a locally available exchange service.
