  • Patent number: 5975993
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a developing roller includes two steps. First, a grinding wheel is moved along the length of a developing roller which has been subjected to a secondary vulcanization. The grinding wheel is brought into contact with the developing roller and is caused to rotate so as to perform an abrasive finishing on the surface of the developing roller. Second, a buffing member is moved along the length of the developing roller. The buffing member is in contact with the developing roller and is moved in the peripheral direction of the developing roller so as to perform buffing on the surface of the developing roller.

  • Patent number: 5610695
Abstract: An electrophotographic development apparatus capable of maintaining the surface roughness of a developer roller thereof for a long term or even for the life span of the apparatus. The developer roller includes an elastic layer, formed on a core metal shaft, and made of a rubber elastic material with additional insulating micro-powder of 30 to 200 parts having a particle diameter in a range of 1 to 50 micrometers, where the amount of the rubber elastic material constitutes 100 parts. During a printing operation, the insulating micro-powder drops from the elastic layer as the rubber elastic material is worn, so that the developer roller can maintain its surface roughness in proportion to the particle diameter of the dropped powder.

  • Patent number: 4913569
Abstract: A wire-type print head comprises an armature to which a rear end of a printing wire is fixed, a core having its forward end adjacent to a rear surface of the armature, a leaf spring having a first end fixed near a permanent magnet and a second end fixed to the armature, and an auxiliary core positioned between the permanent magnet and the core, and having a forward end adjacent to the rear surface of the armature. An electric current is made to flow through a coil wound on the core for generating a magnetic flux through the core in a direction to cancel the magnetic flux due to the permanent magnet. When the coil is not energized the armature is attracted toward the core to resiliently deform the leaf spring. When the coil is energized the armature is released and moved forward by the action of the leaf spring. The rear surface of the armature is kept in contact with the front end of the auxiliary core so that the front end of the auxiliary core forms a fulcrum point for swinging of the armature.

  • Patent number: 4368353
Abstract: A high operational speed print head for mosaic printing is provided which has a plurality of print needles positioned on a straight line, each being selectively driven toward a piece of paper through an ink ribbon. The printer head comprises a cylindrical permanent magnet ring magnetized in the axial direction; a circular bottom plate covering the bottom of the permanent magnet; and a plurality of electromagnets each having a center core and a coil wound around the core positioned on a circle on said bottom plate so as to be surrounded by the permanent ring magnet. A yoke provides a closed magnetic path with the permanent ring magnet, the bottom plate and each of the electromagnets. A plurality of moving bodies equal in number to the number of electromagnets are provided, each having at least an elongated armature overlying the core of the related electromagnet and composing a part of said closed magnetic path.

  • Patent number: 4059835
Abstract: An electric shutter circuit employs a photodiode which forms the collector load of a logarithmic amplifier. The photodiode is shunted with an active device which is caused to conduct during shutter operation to supply an additional current to the logarithmic amplifier to permit a rapid shutter response by assuring the rapid discharge of a memory storage capacitor.
