  • Publication number: 20020170056
Abstract: The present invention provides a function of easily selecting a desire-to-watch program by a simple operation. A plurality of maps 7 of different ranges of a resident area of a viewer are previously transmitted and accumulated in a memory built in a TV receiver. The maps are categorized for walking, a bicycle and a car on the basis of a location of a house of the viewer, and the maps suited to respective applications can be seen by selecting icons 8 (71) displayed on a screen. Further, it is possible to display, on the map, positions of department stores, supermarkets, restaurants and amusement parks and, in addition, information of inserts, menu information of the restaurants, and event information of the amusement parks by selecting the icons 8 (75). Moreover, information on a traffic congestion, natural disasters and others can be displayed on the map and properly rewritten. Viewers can easily obtain these pieces of information by operating a remote controller.

  • Patent number: 6094994
Abstract: An impact type flow meter for a particulate material such as cereal comprises a supply device for dropping the particulate material, an inclined load detection plate for receiving the dropped particulate material, and a load detector for detecting a load of the particulate material exerted to the load detection plate. A bottom surface of the supply device is inclined at substantially the same degree with the load detection plate, and has at its lower end with a supply opening for dropping the particulate material onto the load detection plate. The bottom surface serves to guide the particulate material to the load detection plate at substantially the same inclination therewith. Thus, the flow meter has a buffer device for softening a dropping impact of the particulate material integrally incorporated in the particulate material supply device, and accordingly, the height is low and the whole apparatus is compact.

  • Patent number: 4984198
Abstract: The disclosed liquid crystal electrooptic memory device uses a ferroelectric liquid crystal sandwiched by a pair of molecular oriented films attached to opposite surfaces thereof, and a pair of transparent conductive films are attached to the outside surfaces of the molecular oriented films, respectively. An impedance having a constant electrostatic capacitance and a variable resistance is connected to one of the transparent conductive films. Further, an electric pulse source is connected across the transparent conductive films through the impedance. When a pulse from the pulse source is applied to the transparent conductive films, light transmittance of the ferroelectric liquid crystal is set at different levels depending on the resistance of the impedance. Thus, the resistance of the impedance is memorized in the form of the light transmittance of the ferroelectric liquid crystal. The impedance can be in the form of a photoconductive film attached to the molecular oriented film.

  • Patent number: 4920642
Abstract: A method for connecting the wires of a high density, flat transmission cable to a connector is provided. A crimp connector for facilitating the practice of the method is also provided. The connector includes one or more rows of contacts mounted thereto. Each contact includes a crimp section extending from the connector housing. The crimp sections are plated with a relatively thick layer of solder. After stripping the end of the cable, selected cable conductors are inserted within the crimp sections. A batch crimping operation secures the conductors to the contacts, after which the crimp sections are heated to fuse the solder. Once the solder has cooled, a reliable connection will be established between the cable and connector. A solder-plated bus bar may also be secured to selected cable conductors by preliminarily mounting the conductors thereto and then heating the bus bar.
