  • Patent number: 9785422
Abstract: A system and method for applying multiple rewritings without contention in a semi-automatic program rewriting system. The method includes: finding dependent ranges of a variable and a modification affecting range of the variable in a target program; determining at least two solutions for target program modification; detecting whether a collision condition exists amongst the one or more solutions; and modifying the program with said one or more solutions if no collision condition exists, while disabling the other solution if a collision condition is detected. A solution includes a rewriting of a segment of a target program code, and there is performed applying one or both of: multiple rewritings in a single solution and multiple rewritings in multiple regions of the target program. When multiple solutions are applied, the second and later solutions are applied to the already rewritten program. The correct application regions of the second and later solutions are identified.

  • Patent number: 8898648
Abstract: A profiling tool identifies a code region with a false sharing potential. A static analysis tool classifies variables and arrays in the identified code region. A mapping detection library correlates memory access instructions in the identified code region with variables and arrays in the identified code region while a processor is running the identified code region. The mapping detection library identifies one or more instructions at risk, in the identified code region, which are subject to an analysis by a false sharing detection library. A false sharing detection library performs a run-time analysis of the one or more instructions at risk while the processor is re-running the identified code region. The false sharing detection library determines, based on the performed run-time analysis, whether two different portions of the cache memory line are accessed by the generated binary code.

  • Patent number: 8555615
Abstract: In a control method of an internal combustion engine exhaust gas control system which is applied to a hybrid vehicle that is powered by an internal combustion engine and an electric motor, an exhaust throttle valve, provided downstream of an exhaust gas control catalyst, is controlled to reduce its opening amount to a target opening amount when it is determined that warm-up control of the internal combustion engine needs to be executed. Next, a target injection quantity of fuel necessary to increase the temperature of exhaust gas flowing into the internal combustion engine to a target exhaust gas temperature is calculated. Then, assist torque from the electric motor is adjusted so that the sum of torque from the internal combustion engine when the fuel injection quantity has been set to the target injection quantity and the assist torque substantially equals a required torque.

  • Publication number: 20120311593
Abstract: A method and system to acquire checkpoints in making iteration-method computer calculations in parallel and to effectively utilize the acquired data for recovery. At the time of acquiring a checkpoint in parallel calculation that repeats an iteration method, each node independently acquires the checkpoint in parallel with the calculation without stopping the calculation. Thereby, it is possible to perform both of the calculation and the checkpoint acquisition in parallel. In the case where the calculation does not impose an I/O bottleneck, checkpoint acquisition time is overlapped, and execution time is reduced. In this method, checkpoint data including values at different points of time during the acquisition process is acquired. By limiting the use purpose to iteration-method convergence calculations, mixture of the values at the different points of time in the checkpoint data is accepted in the problem that a convergence destination does not depend on an initial value.

  • Patent number: 8291697
Abstract: An internal combustion engine control device includes a NOx adsorber catalyst disposed in an exhaust passage, an EGR passage, a reducing agent adding device, a torque fluctuation reducing device, and a fuel injection device. The EGR passage draws a portion of exhaust gas from the exhaust passage downstream of the NOx adsorber catalyst and recirculates the exhaust gas into the intake passage. The reducing agent adding device adds a reducing agent to exhaust gas upstream of the NOx adsorber catalyst to reduce substances adsorbed by the NOx adsorber catalyst. When or after the reducing agent adding device adds the reducing agent, the torque fluctuation reducing device advances the timing of the fuel injection device or carries out a pilot injection to reduce a fluctuation in engine torque. The reducing agent adding device adds less reducing agent while the torque fluctuation reducing device is operating.
